Incredibly incredibly incredibly helpful. Can't thank you enough for this video!! Two ideas for you 1) Make an influencer marketing 2.0 version and discuss more details like - based on follower size, what type of partnership (free product, flat rate, etc) are appropriate - when using a discount code, do you give the influencer a % of sales they drive - how to maintain a relationship with an influencer long term 2) very different, but business insurance. Any tips or tricks from the shopify team?
Just incredibly useful video. influencers marketing clearly explained in 15 minutes, so anyone can get general guidance about how to work with influencers as a marketing manager in SMEs.
As a Influencer I think this is very valuable information too! It gives a good Idea of what Brands are expecting out of me. I now see that focusing my content on mostly Fashion and Dance, I'd have more chances with brands selling products of this category!

Thank you. I learned so much and I actually used your email template. It worked! Please, we need a video on Tiktok marketing. I'm in the food industry.
Important to know how to market on social media in a way that keeps you and your family safe. Or just be very effective at avoiding social media altogether the way it was done in the old days. Which worked just fine. One photograph of even just a head shot can mean your life. I've now had two REALLY scary men either physically come into my business in a very terrifying/inappropriate way or text me very creepy texts that just sent white hot fear through me. I'm furiously resentful of being forced into letting the world know we all exist in order for your business to be taken seriously. As far as influencers, I don't see a way around showing your face so be very aware and careful.
OMG I couldn't agree with you more! And this just reaffirms my decision not to show my face. There are plenty of popular instagrammers and youtubers that don't show their face. Softly Studio is one of them. So it IS possible!!

I enjoyed and learned a lot from this video Michelle. Thank you so much
Hey guys, please note that the free trial promotion has changed. The free trial period is now for 3 days, after which it will cost only 1$/month for the next 3 months!
Hi, I was wondering if you could do a video regarding how to handle returns and return policy? What to do when customers doesn't follow the policy. For example, How to handle if customer return way pass the 14 days return policy? Let say 2 & half months later. How to say return are not accepted at that point? What to do if there is a chargeback because of it? For international returns, how to deal with the wrong import custom charges and fees? For my understanding there shouldn't be fees on someone return your goods but I always get problem with wrong charges. Especially from express courier. Regular postal service is sometime.
I think another goal that's often overlooked, is generating a rich media library through collaborating with influencers-which is a cost-effective alternative to hiring photographers and videographers to produce product content. Send influencers products and get them to do a product shoot, or video review... The bonus: user-generated (or influencer-generated) content builds credibility for the online store.
Great point. All about the UGC (user-generated content). Many brands and agencies are now looking at UGC as benefit #1 of influencer marketing, with sales also nice but almost a bonus rather than a requirement.
Thanks for this valuable feedback, that is a great option, especially if product photography is not readily available at first. Thank you for reaching out- Marty
It also lends to a poor branding from a visual standpoint. Finding a photographer or an intimate small team of likeminded folks doing photo/video work for your brands is always returning a unique and bold stance for brands.
@@AppalachiaDreamin It's a different approach. It doesn't negate the need for professional video/photo services for the brand presentation, but UGC is all about candid, organic content that resonates a lot better with people than polished one.
Hi Nelly. Thank you for the nice feedback, we appreciate that! As for sending an item to an influencer, you would need to figure out the best method for shipping it out to them. However, what you might want to look into is an app like this one: bit.ly/30hxbIc. It offers a free tool within the app that enables you to find influencers who are engaging with your brand as customers, subscribers, or fans! Invite influencers to collaborate, send them samples to create content, and see all the posts your brand is tagged in. It may be worth checking out! -Marty
Hi, wondering is an influencer agreement recommneded when it comes to gifting partnership? or the influencers might not agree to sign an agreement because it's unpaid?
An agreement of some sort is always good to have. If not on paper, then a clear and conclusive email exchange before you go ahead. Even on DMs is fine, as long as it's not just verbal.
Can you tell me how I can find influencers for my social network? I see a lot of videos about influence marketing but nothing about how to find influencers for a particular type of business. I have 2 social networks, one for the U.S. only and one is a global social network. I appreciate any assistance you might lend. I will subscribe to your channel now and like your video. I hope that helps you a bit.
Hey! Perhaps a starting point would be to understand the specific demographic you'd like to reach for your social network. E.g. are these mainly millennials that have particular interests such as lifestyle, fashion, beauty, etc. If your platform is targeting a broader audience, I'd suggest you still have a niche focus with influencer collabs to help identify which segment has higher conversion rates.
Hello @AmericaFirstPatriotLLC, I'm a United States Influencer & Actor, do you have time to speak over a ZOOM call this week? You have a great question in trying to find us, influencers. And I'd be happy to help. What's a good day for you to speak?
Dear Michelle, I am not getting the price setting strategy. Why people will buy costlier products if same product is available for cheaper price on different store like Amazon. Expecting your response. With Thanks, Dr. B. Sharan India
This is top-notch in every aspect. I read a book with similar content, and it was top-notch. "The Hidden Empire: Inside the Private Worlds of Elite CEOs" by Adam Skylight
In the cosmic tapestry of social media, there exists a celestial platform known as “Above the Influence.” Its constellation of videos orbits around a central theme: the struggle to remain authentic amidst the gravitational pull of societal expectations. 🌌
Do you know how many people you can contact per day using the CRM? I’m looking to do 300 per day. Do you have any suggestions on software that can do this?
Hey, Pamela! We're glad to learn about your interest in Dovetale. Just to provide some context, Dovetale has been rebranded to Shopify Collabs. It's still a platform that builds and manages a community of creators who can help you sell more products, however, it now offers many new features. We recommend reviewing our help documentation to get a better understanding of Shopify Collabs. If you're a merchant, you can visit this page (shopify.link/d8Rx), and if you're a creator, you can visit this page (shopify.link/kAyJ). These resources will provide more information about the platform and its functionalities. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
Hey so I've a really quick question If the influencer's I'd is private but her audience engagement is great should I go with her like for collab/sending her a pr ?? I'll really appreciate if you answer this
Hey! I think it would be important to get a sense of the influencer's content skill and collab experience to ensure they are an ideal match for your brand.
Hello @farzeen _ Take your time & interview the influencers that you're interested in, just like you would interview a potential new employee for a job. You want someone who is the right fit for you & your brand. If they have a private account, it shows that they care about the information & content that is shared on social media.
So I reached out to an old friend who is a nano influencer, and now her photographer is contacting me. I am totally intimidated and just starting out. I had planned on sending merch to friend in exchange for a post or two....NOT having cinsidered her photographer is a 3 time emmy award-winning photographer. HELP!
Sounds like this will be a great opportunity for your business! I can definitely understand your perspective on this though, and how intimidating it can be to work with a highly experienced individual, especially if you're just starting out. All opportunities also come with a great chance for learning, so this would be one that you can gain a ton of experience and knowledge from I'm sure! With all collaborations however, it's important to keep in mind about your business' goals and values too, and to keep those at the forefront of your decisions. What are you hoping to accomplish with this interaction and collaboration with the photographer?
I’m a 62yr oh 63yr old this year ! Ok I own a 35yr old business and have great products and a new online website. I need info on how to promote my special products that are sold in my store continuously to new and familiar customers? I hope that makes cents 😅
Hey, Andy! Our guide on selling in Shopify is a terrific general resource for sales and marketing advise. I recommend checking it out here: bit.ly/3wlMaxF - Dirk
Hey LWS Your content is very simple, I don't get much value in the video apart from that Dovetale tool, You can add some case study & discuss few starategies regarding influencer marketing, If you want to grow LWS you must pay attention to this.
I just watched your video which was quite helpful, thanks for that. I also just tried to enter the Dovetale website but der was no chance to sign up for it. There is onla a log in field... Is it normal or did they change something?
Hello. Paranjothi! Thanks for your comment! Are you looking to sell products that are system sets microphones on your Shopify store? In regard to podcast licenses, this is not something Shopify provides, however you can check how to obtain this by speaking to a legal expert in your area!
I have a few questions regarding brand awareness as a goal, and they will probably sound dumb so I apologise in advance. How can I track brand awareness (i.e if I want to set a specific goal or want to see if my plan worked through results) if I do not have a website? The only other option I can think of is social media engagement. But then would that not go under a different goal to increase social engagement. Also, is there a preferred goal to set based on how large your business is? My main true goal is driving sales, but because my business is small I know that I should prioritize brand awareness, but i do not know if that is conflicting. Any help appreciated, thank you in advance!
Hi Salma! Some great questions here. Could you tell me more about your business? You mention you do not have a website; do you sell on other platforms?
Hello! Thank you for your reply :) My business is based around exclusive fashion brands and hard to get items. It’s most established on Instagram which I use to sell to client often, alongside other platforms like snapchat, WhatsApp, and Facebook - and other listing platforms (eBay, marketplace etc). But I am currently working on launching a shopify store. I’m not sure if it will be smarter to launch an influencer campaign after or before the website as it might take me a while to set up
Okay, I see! Thanks for that information. I think if your selling wholly happens on Instagram then your brand awareness will mainly come down to the number of followers and engagements you are getting on your account. If you launch a Shopify store, you can direct customers to the site from social media and other marketing methods, and use our analytics to track visitors and conversions: bit.ly/3xGeoE1. I'd also recommend checking out this article on the Shopify Blog about brand awareness, which covers what you should be measuring and how you can manage this data: bit.ly/3YRoayN.
Hey, Any tips on creating actual small websites for influencer that are easily adjusted ( name and photos) I do amazon and want to funnel traffic that way great video... looking forward to exploring the channel more
Hey! I'd like to gather more context as to what you're wanting to achieve. Are you wanting to build an online store that is specific for influencers? Were you wanting to sell a product or service?
Hey, Shawn! Are you referring to the message request folder on Instagram? If so, if an Instagram user has set to receive the messages from people they don't follow in their message requests, messages will directly go there and there's no way around it. We suggest looking at alternative ways of contacting influencers, such as sending them an email address. You'll have more success going down that route rather than sending Instagram DMs. Hope that helps!
@@learnwithshopify Hi, Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for the response, but it does the same with the email, I end up in their spams. Also, most people on instagram don't give out their email address unless you ask for them, which I can't do because if I DM them I end up in their spams...
Hi, again! Thanks for that feedback! If this is not working out for you you can look at other ways you can use Instagram to help you sell: shopify.link/N5v0.
I love that idea of mentioning something specific from their videos so it's not written off as spam. I've used this before, my issue is I can an invention that doesn't really fit a category.
For commission based influencers, what is the “contract” between the company and an influencer, so that they actually post for us and not keep the free samples and ghost
Hi! Influencer marketing will take time, persistence, and networking to forge connections. There are many influencers out there, so if you do not get a reply from some, reach out to others!
Hello! Thanks for sharing your question with us. Have you already sourced influencers you would like to work with and reached out to them to discuss your needs?
How should I go about doing this when I am trying to find influencers to help with my cause? I do presentations for parents. Sex Trafficking prevention for parents to help protect your kids. I do presentations for free, so have no money coming in, but am willing to spend a small amount to get this going. Any suggestions?
Those are great ideas, Lynda! I also think you can leverage some of the tips offered in this video and connect with influencers in the space of Child Safety in general (doesn't have to be narrowed down to trafficking) as a means to up your marketing game and get the word out about your cause.
@@learnwithshopify Thank you, and yes I did get a few ideas from your video so thank you. And I will try that, as I do presentations on Teaching Age-appropriate consent as well. I am just starting out on Instagram, not easy, but I will keep plugging away. Thanks again.
