Thank you!! Jesus that's all I wanted to know, every other video I've watched is full of gumf and stuff I don't need to know. Clear, simple and to the point. Thanks
massive thank-you- but after this what next? Would have liked to have seen the next course of bricks laid- isn't it a slippery base? Must this first dry before further bricks are laid? How about vertical DPM example please.
Great teacher I got taught by him in my level 1 taught me the basics really well wish I didn’t mess about in his class because would of learnt a lot from him in level 2 but now from him introducing it to me in the level one period I carried it on and now a fully time served bricklayer self employed for 3and half years and keepmoat
I’m going to be building a shed in the future. My base will be a concrete slab, then I will put a perimeter of brick, my stud wall will sit on top of the brick - should I add this product before I put my stud wall on top of the brick? Thanks
Phil mudd thanks. Any product you can recommend? Could I wrap this up one side of the stud work, over the top of the brick and then back around to the other side of the stud work? Or just lay it on top like this.. thanks
So the DPC is above the air vent? I keep being told that the DPC is lower and that soil against a brick wall cannot go higher than 1 and a half bricks below the DPC? The Damp proof course is the membrane no? Any help appreciated!
Hi l have concrete base in the garden.. Build shed house from blocks... I m right that l need to put first block(100 high)after put mortar... Dpc... Mortar and other block? Do not put dpc on concrete base before building? Thanks
@@bigjmal Its advisable but not as necessary, mainly because most blocks are solid. It's good to put a thin smear/bed joint this will help secure your dpc so it dosnt slide about. The bricks that was used was a LBC common with a frog impression in the brick, these need to be filled so the dpc dosnt concave in to the frog.
That's got to be horrible for the bond... I would think something half the width and centered on the brick would do the job and not compromise the bond.......just me spitballing though...
