Hi Warren, I purchased the Ariel Chobaz course and love it... Watched it twice so far. Related to this course... Just wondering, how long is the entire Mixing Modern Rock course? Also, what is the total number of video modules? Thank you in advance.

This is the type of stuff that sets you apart as a mixer. Anyone can mix a track, but the using tricks of the trade in new ways is what sets you apart.

Warren I would love it and other people may too if you could devote a lil bit of time during one of your videos to setting instrument levels . This is by far the most frustrating thing in the world, least to me. Either the drums are too loud or soft or something else is too loud or soft . I know about getting the bass and kick drum to sit but other than that it's been trial and error. I emphasize error lol. This includes the level on the master bus I prolly have that sitting too high as well.

Just wish you would have showed more of an example of the fairy dust guitar as he's talking about in the beginning. Why choose a song that doesn't have what you're trying to explain in it?

I'm not sure if i understand correctly is the baritone in the same tuning as the other guitars?
@daveross37
@daveross37 6 лет назад
I have a baritone guitar. I was wondering if the regular guitars are tuned down to the same tuning as the baritone or if they were different tunings and playing the same chords. I assume its the latter.
@TheBhannah
@TheBhannah 6 лет назад
he was saying that he tunes his baritone so he hits the low note in a specific song

Marvellous question Dave! A baritone is the link between a guitar and a bass, filling in the low end and low mids to help create a really fat guitar sounds! Have a marvellous creating huge guitars! Many thanks Warren

wow thats rather nice I'm really concerned with how he got those tracks down did he really record those many tracks!
@justinbowen1183
@justinbowen1183 11 месяцев назад
Probably did. I record 4 rhythm and 2 leads for a super thick wall of sound and that's just for guitar so that's 6 right there before I even add drums or anything else to the mix. I normally pan the rhythm tracks 80% left and right and then 50% left right so the tracks have space to breathe. The biggest thing I could tell you to emphasize is to space your panning out don't just drop everything into 1 pocket because it's easy, space things out. Also, label your tracks so you don't get confused this is something I didn't do for years and I constantly got my stuff mixed up or forgot what the track was for. If I have a lead track I record it twice and pan them each 20% so their not right in the center. If I have a solo of any kind it always goes dead center and I up the volume a hair so it stands out and this was a huge deal to figure out. It's a solo piece so it's supposed to stand out from everything else. Just don't push the volume up so high you can't hear anything else.
