@@ok5018 That’s cool! I find Vietnam to be a very impressive country with an impressive history. A regional leader! I’m glad something about the Portuguese language and/or Portugal drew your attention and your admiration
Thank you for this video. My family is from Portugal and I want to communicate in Portuguese with them and visit Portugal but, just as you said, it seems like almost every resource out there is dedicated to Brazilian Portuguese rather than European. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of some useful resources!
You rock! I am so proud of you learning Portuguese, I am Brazilian so my Portuguese is a little different but I am here to help you. You helped me very much with my Duolingo test. I am very grateful.
I've been using Memrise. I just went to Portugal and was able to communicate, and the locals were so helpful. They were as excited to help me as I was to speak
Love the video Yulia! I just started practicing basic European Portuguese too! Some channels I recommend are Talk The Streets, Portuguese Lab, and Practice Portuguese. They have listening and comprehension videos and exercises which are super helpful, and tips for speaking like a local; and it's nice because those channels are for learning European Portuguese! Good luck on your Portuguese journey, I would love to see an update video in the future!
I was amazed at the change and sophistication of the camera like production and directing. Languages are good and give an impression of culture to people. Julia, keep going and be a world coach as you strive to do the best for your followers.
This is awesome! I made a goal to get to A2 in French in one year and this was super inspiring. I found your channel by watching how you learnt French.
Parabéns Yulia, muito bom saber á tua determinação para aprender o Português, eu sou Angolana e falo 4 línguas, Russo é minha segunda língua seguidamente o inglês e estou na luta com o francês.😚
I want to learn Portuguese, because I'm half Portuguese but I was born on Spain, and my entire family talked in Spanish or catalan.. But it's really difficult to find resources in Portuguese from Portugal. Thank you so much!
Hi! I'm Portuguese, from Portugal! I am always so happy when I see other people learning European Portuguese! My language is so beautiful. ahah If you need help, don't hesitate to ask, I can help! There is nothing better than talking to someone native. Kisses! :D
I'm so happy when I see someone wanting to learn my mother language. I'm Brazilian, so my Portuguese from Portugal is different, but it's still Portuguese lol 👇 Good luck on your learning journey! 🤩🤩🤩
this is awesome, thank you! how different is Brazilian from European? I've heard it's like French and Quebecois when you kinda understand each other, but you have different slang/phrases haha
@@ThisisYulia Brazil is a very large country, each state has a different accent and slang. Portugal, as it is a small country, I think it's a Portuguese but formal one, they also have their slang, but I still consider their Portuguese very formal, but I think the accent is beautiful! 🥰
@@ThisisYulia It´s not too different. It´s much like the differece between british english and american english. I love your channel and I hope to live in Canada someday! Cheers from Brazil!
Hey guys, I’m Native from Portuguese language so if you need help to learn or need talk with a native I’m here to help you guys 😊 Portuguese language it’s not difficult just work hard and don’t give up 😅
I'm Brazilian and I find you really brave to learn Portuguese from Portugal, the pronunciation and grammar is so much harder for English native speakers.😅
Hey Yulia, Can you believe that you became some kind of destiny for me. A few months ago I followed you because you were a valuable source of Canadian info. I still have a Canadian Dream (waiting for a study permit) but my employer offered me to relocate to Portugal. And... Nice to meet you again, nowadays with my Portugal Dream:)) Please don't move anywhere anymore !!:)
Hi! I found my frustration finding good apps for portuguese growing and started looking for lessons on youtube, then i found you and your video is definitely going to help me! Thank you for all the tips. I’ve been living in lisbon for a month now so i can get by with english pretty well. But i wanna go outside of lisbon aswell and this is going to help me a lot! THANK YOU YULIA!!!!!
Im trying to learn European Portuguese because my boyfriend is from portugal and his family still lives there and doesn't speak English, your video helped me a lot because a lot of things i see online is brazilian portuguese
Late here but just to say thanks for this and I’m trying to learn Portuguese now (and suffering but improving!) and before that I was learning Russian and suffering 😂. I’m about the same in both which is not good but I understand my ,other in law who is Russian and can read in Russian… Now however focusing on Portugueses to facilitate a move. 5 languages from you though is impressive. I’d be happy with 2.5 (English plus another and one bad…)
Glad you like Mia, as I've just send her a bunch of money! Just done a couple of sessions so far. Aiming for A2. Good point you make about speaking. I can read reasonably well, but that's because I can take infinite time reading. Speaking requires phrases to pop up quickly!
Olá Yulia. Gostei muito do teu vídeo.☺️ Do you know there's a name similar to Yulia in Portuguese? Júlia. As portuguese I really appreciate people who learn Portuguese. That's why I make vlog-lessons(pt/eng). This way people can learn and practice with real life content😉
Thank you so much! I found your video to be informative and inspiring! I am living in Japan and speak English and Japanese and now I am learning Portuguese because majority of my colleagues are from Portugal. Any books that you recommend?
I am Brazilian. I've used Duolingo everyday. I am going to learn English a lot with you Julia. Here, many women has the same name as your. Portuguese is a little similar Spanish, but are different. Of course, in my opinion, Portuguese is easier than English.
I'm Brazilian and I'm on the opposite path, learning English to be able to immigrate to Canada. Congratulations on your initiative, it is very nice to know of your interest in my mother tongue. Success!
Hiii...I liked your video. I'm also trying to learning Portuguese language as like you. It's really fun. And also sometimes frustrating 🙃 well, you can try portugese lab too. Personally I felt they are much enough organising for beginners. Mia online course is may b nice but I didn't liked. Well, good day.
Hey Yulia , I'm from Yemen ARABIAN country and Im traveling to Portugal so soon for university and I need to learn Portuguese language not only to talk but to write & study .....and in my country there are no learning centers for portuguese language ....so if u don't mind plz can u guide me plz
Dulingo is still good because they flash card tips tell you how to pronounce in European Portugal but this is just good for when practicing and reviewing
As a fellow multilingual (who is fluent in 5 languages and is trying to learn a 6th language, Portuguese), would you recommend studying it with French sources? I found it quite hard to learn Portuguese A1 with English and was thinking of restarting it again but this time with French as the guiding language. Any suggestions on which language to use to learn another language hahah?
If you know and european or latim derived language it is way easy to learn portuguese because there are lots of similar words and sentence struture is pretty similar and also the write sistem is the same 8:52 yeah it is correct just the accent was a bit off
Would someone who is fluent in European Portuguese be willing to translate a phrase for me for a tattoo? “Broken and Bloody but Blessed” I am part Portuguese living in Hawaii. Portuguese is one of the predominant ethnicities here in the island. Thanks so much in adavance 🙏🏾 let me know if I can return the favor!
Can I suggest a topic that we ( probably international students ) would love you to film about !! The study permit and student visa , how can we achieve it and to avoid not to be accepted because the embassy officer is not convinced that the applicant wont leave Canada after finish the collage or university . I know its somehow difficult and it needs search about ,, but this is you the guardian of us , if didn't ask you , whom should be asked ? I took a look on the Canadian embassy official website , but its no use !!!! please help , help help help
in Canada only a person with a license can consult about visa and other immigration stuff. I don’t have one, so I’m not gonna film anything about these topics, sorry :)
I was told its best to use the first 30 days just listening and repeating the sounds of Portuguese words ,even if you dont understand what you are saying , then once you have a grounding in these, learn the meanings? Otherwise one says them in your own accent?
Listen to the music with European Portuguese to get the sound pattern embedded in your brain subliminally! Lots of great music in several styles. RU-vid recommendation engine is good at finding stuff once you Like stuff that you like. Tastes vary of course, but I started with Madredeus and Ana Moura. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hJpnwlbJaXc.html Searching with artist name and "letra" sometimes yields lyrics in Portuguese on screen or in description.
Is there anyone here interested in exchange contact to practice portuguese ? I'm Brazilian and I'm up to help and also learn ... I want to learn italian, spanish, french, german ... I'm actually open to some new challenges
I'm not from portugal, but my native language is portuguese. I'm brazilian and I'm excited to listen to you speaking in european portuguese :V By the way, I think I'm 2 months late 😆
I actually checked the website you suggested. And the woman is "offering" Portuguese classes for 1000 euros!! Like LOL. Sure... looks slightly like robbery to me.
I'm Brazilian and people here who find your language Difficult tip for you: Here there are some bad words right 👌 type Bitch that gave birth PQP some Brazilian can make fun of it then right 👁️👄👁️💅
