I like this video because it is helpful to me. But i want to ask i saw some one viewing the dvr to the computer without using any software and without a cable and he viewed dvr's menu on computer and performed all operations he could do on screen or monitor. If you can help me i will be thankful
No, because : 1. the router is what generates the IP address for the laptop. 2. Connecting the router and DVR to the router places them into thesame network, thus making the two of them to be able to communicate

A neighbor gave me his BOSCH DIVAR 300 to reset password cuz he has forgotten it he gave me the BOSCH DIVAR, remote, power adapter and HDD when I connect the VGA, HDMI to my TV to get the interface or anything showing so I can proceed I had no display nothing really showing just light in the DIVAR Is there anything I have to do to get it display?
You would have to check the resolution of your display screen to be sure if the DVR resolution is not higher than that of the screen on which you wish to display.

Hi, great video. I have a question. Can we connect the NVR to a laptop using hdmi cable? I’ve tried it but the HIKVISION interface didn’t pop up for me to do the setting. I don’t want to use VMS. I just want the original HIKVISION interface to pop up on its own as it is basically a plug and play feature. Thanks.
By my basic knowledge of networking and systems interfacing, I don't know how that could work. 1. You are trying to let two IP based devices communicate without an IP infrastructure . 2. You are interfacing two different video formats without video format conversion.
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Q-see QT5516 DVR, this Jovision software device manager doesn't see my DVR, The spectrum Router shows both on the network. I tried cat 5 cable too. there are port forwarding settings in my router, internal , external, and selected TCP + UDP online says port 37777, in my DVR network menu it shows HTTP port 85 and Server 6036. ? confused
@@Tech_Inside_Out I think mine is not Onvif , qsee went out of business, I did manage to get the local working on my app (not my PC yet) , but DDNS will require I pay $55 a year since qsee ddns domain is gone

Final question pls I want to get it clear. When connecting to Laptop without NVR, whether poe or non-poe cam you still need a Poe switch and Poe splitter. Correct? 🙏🏼
You need a POE switch for POE cameras and for Non POE IP Cameras, you will need POE Splitters for each camera. I think i would produce a video to explain the POE and non POE connections. Look out for it. I will address all the questions.

You would have to check your connections. There should be a router sitting between the cameras and the computer, and check your cameras specifically to be sure if they are working well.
If the HDMI Connection into the Laptop is an input into the Laptop, then it would work. But here are the possibilities you can have using the VMS that HDMI connection CANNOT give 1. You can have a second tier recording unto your laptop 2. Multiple DVRs video outputs can all be accessed at the same time through the VMS 3 Whiles you limited to the length of the HDMI cable in the case of the HDMI Cable use, with a VMS, You can connect your laptop wirelessly and view your cameras within your local area network with the use of the internet 4. As many laptops or computers can be used to access the same CCTV camera output without limitation whiles in the case of the HDMI use may require the need for more HDMI splitters and complex cable to have multiple devices access the camera video And many more.........

1. What are your camera brands 2. Are you using the manufacturer's vms? If not, you will have to activate Onvif for compatibility between the two products. 3. Anything other than the above, you must check your connections.
Did you connect the computer and the DVR to the same router? Please check that. Another thing to note is that you can't use a network switch in place of a router.

The essnce of this video is to place the DVR and the Computer on thesame network and access the DVR on the computer over a VMS. Both devices need to be connected to the Router.
I have a zosi view dvr connected to 4 cameras. The dvr is connected to att gateway via an ethernet cable. With the zosi view app on my android, I can view recorded videos from days ago. When I try to view the same videos on my pc the video freezes and wont fast forward. In twenty seconds the video may play 2 seconds. It used to work 6 months ago.

@@Tech_Inside_Out it's a DVD vcr recorder I think I said ethernet connection but its hdmi i was wrong there but it's a Samsung DVD recorder and vcr DVD-vr325 is what it says it's got alot more connections on it than any of my TVs just running the bnc camera thur to a rca adapter for now to tv and using imput to view back and forth
@@Tech_Inside_Out not even sure if the same hook up to that to a adapter to router would get it online new to all this and I figured out how to do what I did to view it by myself lol I think these cameras are made for high buildings as it wood have to be mounted in the woods to view my porch correctly it was one camera gave to me to figure it out night view and all would be nice to zoom it out some but may just be made like this I do have free phone app to watch my dog during the day and put one phone aimed at the tv so can view it away from home like that pretty cool idea there I thought for free and not having to do all this figuring lol
Yes, it will work. But at a point in the link up process, it may require username and password of the Camera. You can refer to the username and password of the Honeywell camera and input when it is requested. Jovision Username is abc, password 123. It may be different for Honeywell, please check it use. Computers are digital devices and for an Analogue device like the AHD camera to be able to interface with a digital device like the computer, there must be an intermediary device that converts the Analogue signal to digital signal for communication to be possible. The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) serves as the intermediary device, converting the Analogue HD camera output to digital to be able to communicate with the computer. 2. Connecting two devices eg computer and AHD cameras requires a basic connectivity which in technical terms is a network for the devices and any device on a network requires an IP address of which AHD cameras CANNOT be assigned IP addresses. A DVR can be assigned an IP address and can be able to stream the videos from the cameras in order to be able to make it available on the network to be seen on the computer. The conclusion is that this video illustrates how to connect AHD cameras to a computer, making use of the tools and platforms required to make it possible.
