I like your channel Sprouht. but what you said about you would spend time with people you love and give back/leave mark if you knew you would die in 7 days does not apply to everyone. I mean.. what if you are poor uneducated and people you love and want to spend time with are either already deceased or they hate or just use you even sometimes those persons are your own addict mother or father who abuse/rape you on daily basis for example ?..AND this is not that rare in these days and age even in Canada Meth problems spiraling out of control a lots of Zombies living on the streets of Toronto and so on.. now that's real world here on earth. I mean at times what you said does not apply to all people only people in Canada or rich western countries.. what about people living in war-torn countries like in Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan, Ukraine ? they don't even have access to you tube. please get real see this messy planet Earth as it is. hope this helps

That's just it, who is to say you aren't going to die in 7 days? No one knows the time they will die, the place they will die, or how they will die, but it is certain you will die. Because we can't predict the future, we should just try to live in the moment and enjoy the things around us and treat all people as much as we can with kindness. What if you got into an argument then drove off and died in a car crash. It happens everyday, but is that how you want to live your last day? So treat everyday like it's your last day. This life is just a Dream! Namo Amituofo 🙏🙏🙏

Being a 70 yr old woman, the best thing I can say about living your life is.....be kind to all, have no judgment on others. Don't expect everyone to think the way you do. Always be kind to those standing next to you because you don't know what they are going through. Have no regrets because they can eat you like cancer. You only get one chance in life, do what makes you happy. I lost one sister and one brother recently. I am from a family of 10 kids, we had nothing but my parents worked so hard to put food on the table and clothe us. I never forget where I came from. My life is good and I am so thankful for everything. You can't take anything with you when you pass so don't think material things are important. People have no patience with the elderly and yet you will be there 0ne day, everyone gets old. Bottom line....we need more kindness and compassion in this world. What a lovely world this would be ...

Retired at 53 five months ago. Left a lot of money on the table. Mom passed away 18 months after retiring. Wife radically remitted from terminal cancer at 49. I have 5 kids from 10 to 24 in expensive California. Colleagues said I’d miss power and feeling important. Nope. Loving it. Haven’t thought about work for even a minute. Focusing now on reprogramming my brain to be in the today……to minimize living in the past of disappointment and the anxiety of the future. Not easy but when I do life is so much more enjoyable and lighter. You’re on track young man way earlier than I was. Find that sweet spot of life early.

It's not just about dying but you never know when you can end up disabled or can't function the way you used to. When you die, it's not a scary thing because you're on to the next phase. If you become paralyzed or a quad, you're still here to suffer and watch the world go by. You see your loved ones grieving due to your suffering.
@FLeigh12
@FLeigh12 10 месяцев назад
Easy answer to that. If you're a para or quad, ask someone to take you to a mountain to check out the views, and then when their back is turned, haul yourself over the cliff. MOST people wouldn't want to suffer for years and euthanasia is not allowed in usa. ---- ok, wait, how does one get a wheelchair up a mountain?. ok, forget that.

My rolling midlife crisis was 45-49. After 3 years of therapy (once / week), quit my job, etc and never went back to the corporate thing. I'd actually saved enough by then, however people assumed I couldn't have - I was shunned by nearly everyone (all those "friends"). That hurt and took about 3 years of processing anger and (their) shame. During that time I worked intensively with disabled people and did art stuff. Long walks / museums / libraries / gardens / sleep/ don't drink. After that, things were much better. On my way to becoming an adult - there aren't that many around.

That was brave. I have been thinking about my life. Had a rough life, basically raised myself into adulthood and had to deal with abuse. Raised my now adult children by myself . I worked really hard to be where I am. I have a good job and make good money but mentally and physically taxing. I have been in a long distance relationship and have been thinking about just dropping everything and moving back home to be with him. I have saved enough for retirement from work and will have funds to withdraw in 10 years. I bought a farm and built two modest homes. I will have no mortgage or rent back home. I am conflicted coz I am still young to resign and thinking 5 more years to make money and save more for liquid assets etc… I will give myself another year before I make my final decision. Wish me luck.

If you fear death you never truly live. I lost my mum to suicide when I was 14. I don't know how, but at that age I understood the duality of life and death very clearly. I have lived a very exciting fulfilled life. I got to travel the world, live in various countries, not work my a$$ off, spend my time as my spirit sees fit at any given moment. I'm 50 now and through all my life experiences, I would say nurturing meaningful relationships, whether it be friends, lovers, family. etc and sharing/giving back in ways that perpetuates culture or community are the most important things that will bring the greatest meaning and purpose to one's life. Without those elements, all the traveling, doing fun things,"career," etc will eventually lead to emptiness. It is in the giving and sharing that we are at our fullest potential as a person.

So glad I woke up to these principles earlier in life. I started thinking and adjusting my views on this life decades ago. I got rid of toxic people in my life. Put better people in my life and together we have contributed more than going it alone. We live out life doing the things we love. Family, travel, learning, giving. I realize that I have more years behind me than in front of me. So every day, I treat it like my last day or week on earth. What do I want to extract or give back this day? What trips and things do we want to do and see? Then we put them on the calendar and work towards doing them. We set dates. Be intentional and then execute on plans. When my doctor asks how I am mentally or with stress, etc. I always chuckle and say what stress? I think I live a fairy tale life really. I say Doc, if I died walking out of here, I die a happy and contended man. Knowing my wife and grown daughter are great and will suffer nothing but emotion from my passing. Their life won't change based on any finance issues. That alone brings contentment and solace. Get out there people. Go do that thing you always wanted to do.. and then do another... and so on.

Being a retired Pediatrician, death does not scare me at all. And, no I wouldn’t change a thing because all of my life experiences, the highs, lows, and mistakes have shaped me into the man I am today. Maybe because of my career, I give gratitude every night that I lay my head on my pillow at night. Sometimes during my day, I look up and silently say “thank you”. I’ve always been the mindset that I really don’t care what you think of me … I am what I am (maybe that’s part of being a Scorpio astrologically). If death were to come right now, I would go without any regrets 😉👍🏻

I really like and appreciate your videos, and this one struck a special chord with me. I’m 27 and have always tried to live a life authentic to my values, which includes having a curiosity for other cultures and people. I’ve also lived in Japan, in addition to several other countries, and studied abroad multiple times in university, but ever since joining the working world, I have barely had the chance to truly travel and feel like I’ve lost my sense of self. The real wake up call came earlier this year when I contracted an incredibly rare infection that had me hospitalized for a month and nearly took my life. When I thought I might not make it, I found it interesting that I did not regret much at all, but I was upset that I had gradually molded myself in a way that conforms to the corporate world. I wasn’t afraid about dying, either. Instead, I felt sad that I hadn’t given back to the world in more significant ways and that I wouldn’t get to see so many places in the world that had been on my bucket list. Most importantly, I was devastated by the thought that I might not get to see or hug my loved ones again. I wished that I hadn’t wasted so much of my youth worrying about inane things and had spent more time just being joyfully present and loving and helping those around me. Now that I’ve recovered and am back to work, it’s easy to fall into old habits and routines. It also seems overly sentimental to share the thoughts and feelings I had with many of the people with whom I most interact in my day-to-day life. We have to be deliberate about living in alignment with our true selves and our true values, because it’s much easier to interact with others and the world on a very surface level day after day, letting the best parts of life pass us by.

A no-risk, responsible/conforming lifestyle as a young adult, chasing money, buying things to impress others, to be temporarily happy, will mean absolutely nothing when you get old. Looking back, wondering where you took the wrong path. Fond memories, besides family, of unique experiences, adventures are everything. Thank you for your videos I stumbled upon your videos and have just about watched them all so far. As older folks what they might have changed or how they feel about life, death, work, and other situations is pretty cool. I also enjoy you speaking to the different age groups. I am soon to be 68 years old, while I am not afraid of dying, I would like to do it on my terms not a doctors, hospital, or anyone else is. My thought on dying is this we are all born with a bus ticket in hand, at some point in time in our lives the bus will rock up and you are not given a chance to choose to get on or not, you have to get on no matter what. So while a machine, or life saving fix might give us hope at the end of the day you can not stop the bus.. The one thing I will pass on to any young person is Travel, Travel and more Travel. See the world see how other folks have to live or choose to live. Also do not stay on the beaten paths, go out and meet the locals, experience what there is to offer, smell the flowers, food, the good and the bad. I will say when you get back to the place you call home you will appreciate what you have a lot more. I have travelled the world, lived over seas for 15 years, but at the end I had to come back home to the USA. There are days today I look the in mirror and question my decision. I hope you each have a Wonderful Life Enjoy and remember we ALL have the same right to live our lives as We choose. Thanks keep up the great stories.

Being kind to others and be understanding of people’s differences and hardships is what I find most important as I grow older. I want to look into the mirror and know that I left a positive legacy behind and that I positively impacted others. I guess that shifted somewhere when I approached my 30s. Doing things for myself only became boring and pointless. I felt this urge to give back (which also resulted in us starting a family).

Every day is literally gift 🎁 I live to see the world and spend my life on this goal. I have a family, just had a baby and it’s depressing to stay home because of having a newborn. I volunteered abroad and it was one of the best times of my life, I was 26, now 35 and still think of it almost daily and I still talk to my host family. Next year we are going to start back up travelling and the following year we will return to my volunteering project and see my host family again ❤

Death right now scares me because I have 4 young children. I worry about them and their future. I worry how my husband can manage without me. We function like a well-oiled machine that when one of us gets sick the rhythm gets thrown off. So death is definitely going to affect them a whole lot and it breaks my heart when I think of it sometimes. I counter it with prayer, trusting in the One who is in control.

Don’t waste another minute worrying “what if”. Use each moment like it’s your last. Every minute is a gift…an absolute gift.
@Dbb27
@Dbb27 Год назад
One of the best things I did to stop the worrying was buy myself a term life policy. They’re really cheap. I was 52 and worrying about my handicapped son and how he would make it without me. I’m 17 years into a 20 year policy which ends at 72. But now I have enough assets/savings that he will be fine. It’s for $350k and only cost $60 a month. I slept a hell of a lot better once that was in place. The younger you are the cheaper it is. Don’t do whole life. It’s very expensive and not necessary. A lot of insurers will push to sell you whole life because the commissions are huge. Losing a loved one also means loss of income or more expenses if you have kids. Everyone needs a death plan. A will, a trust upon death of both you and your spouse and term insurance. Stop worrying and do something. 😊

@@Dbb27 I totally agree! It is sound & practical advice! ❤️ I worked for insurance company for some yrs so I know a bit. In fact, when we moved overseas one of the first ones we did was to get insurance. We have 4 kids and, as you already know, while young they depend on adults for nearly everything. Some days are easy but most days I’m like, “Hey, Im tired and it’s only 10am!” 😂
@Dbb27
@Dbb27 Год назад
@@shoshanas5251 excellent. Glad to hear. I wish when my kids were little we had gotten term life. It would have decreased the anxiety being a stay at home parent with a sick child. All anyone ever tried to sell us was the expensive whole life policies. 🤦‍♀️ which we couldn’t afford. And now I certainly wouldn’t buy.

I thought about death everyday for at last two decades ive got a serious problem it really scares me. If someone said they will slap you in the face today but you won't know when it's coming you'd spend all day in fear waiting for it. That's how I spend my life knowing death is coming, I don't know why people aren't as freaked out about it as me about death. I've always wanted to ask older people what they think of dying but thought it was a really rude thing to ask and don't want to make old people sad. So was surprised and grateful to see this video pop up. Why aren't you afraid of dying?

In my 40’s and i also think about death and have every single day for the past 20 years. But it doesn’t scare me. Death is the only thing that gives life meaning. So I think this way and appreciate every living day I have. I’m not like most who cling to it to reach a ripe old age. This is not me. I don’t see getting old as a beautiful thing. People act happy but most are miserable and just existing. I just live each day how I like and when it happens or when I’m ready I’m ok with it

Too young too mature, in a good way as you realised what life really is about and what living is… most of us are just alive not living. You can live life in a week’s time or you can just exist for a lifetime. Choice is ours. Never too late.

I am 70 years old. I do not regret any of the decisions I made in my life. I realize that people's decisions are based on what they think is best for them at the time. So, even if I knew when I was going to die, I would continue to live based on what I believe is best for me in the moment. Having said all that, the only things that I regret in life are the consequences of my decisions. It does no good to feel bad about those because we have no control over those consequences. The only thing we control is our reaction to what life throws at us.

When that 60-year old lady said she can't enjoy what she wants because of working and paying a mortgage. Unless she has a spouse or children living with her she doesn't need a mortgage. Having a mortgage or owning a house is mainly beneficial to those who will die and leave it to someone. Otherwise, take your time and money and do what you like. That's what I did and ain't no way I'm going to spend the weekends cutting grass, trimming bushes, raking leaves, plowing snow and watering plants. I sold my last house years ago and that was the best thing I did. Now all my time is spent doing what I want and even giving back to humanity. And it's easy to give back when you don't have a ton of bills and have all the free time you want. So, if I was on my death bed I know there's nothing else I ever wanted to do in this life.

There's rentals that come furnished with water, cable etc Go talk to a realtor who rents out long term rentals for business clients that includes everything. You're a slave to your house, unless that's the only place you want be and not go anywhere. So many retirees sell their homes and never look back. You couldn't give me a house and make me stay there. Good luck 👍
