Beautiful talk, It gave me a great glimpse into the Donut Action Lab, thaks to those picturesshowing people celebrating their vision of the Donut. How far the Donut already reached ! Special gratitude to the speaker, Kate Raworth, for taking the risk (and the pleasure) of changing her usual academic approach for an open-hearted talk. LET US CELEBRATE !!!

Has Raworth ever said what policy she thinks would effectively account for economic externalities? If the system is unbalanced, if we are depleting resources or emitting pollution at too-rapid a rate, we can slow the pace of resource depletion and reduce the amount of pollution by charging hefty fees to industries proportional to emissions, resource extraction and habitat destruction. Sharing fee proceeds equally to all people would make the policy fair and would end abject poverty. Charging fees proportional to environmental harm would promote sustainability. Sharing (a monetary representation of) natural wealth will promote justice. (Wealth made by natural processes should be shared equally.)

marvelous and brave, was great to see the Maori version of the Doughnut. For those unfamiliar with Kate Raworth's project it might be better to start with some of her earlier talks as this one seems to presume a bit of familiarity with the ideas (a fair assumption after 10 years of work).

Pragmatism in economic policymaking involves considering real-world constraints, acknowledging diverse perspectives, and iteratively adjusting strategies based on evidence and feedback. It's an ongoing process that requires adaptability and responsiveness to changing circumstances, it looks a brilliant theoretical idea but Is it Pragmatic?? for instance, the cost of climate change is about $25 trillion per year, plus education, healthcare, and infrastructure. my skepticism lies in the ability to think does it solve the problem of inequality and other issues?????
