Thanks for this video. I need your help when I lift up the lever and start turning it feels like there is absolutely zero resistance! I am so scared of damaging the film if I open the back door. Any idea on what else I could do/ try?

Did you ever find it hard to push the rewind knob back down? I'm having trouble with mine lol

It seems like the rewind knob has a specific spot that it has to be in for it to go back down. To find it, just turn it forwards and backwards until it goes down.

hey, nice vid! do you know if it’s okay to shoot with nikonos v without the o-rings for terrain pictures? or should i use them even if not shooting underwater? thanks!!

I have no idea but would advise to be cautious and use the o-rings in case they are an essential part of the light seals.

Hi! I'd love to get some insight on how the manual focus works on this camera. I'm quite bad at manual focus in general but the Nikonos RS-AF is so much more expensive... So I'd appreciate any insight on the subject.

With this camera, you basically pick a set range of distance that’s in focus then move so you get in that range. This way, you know that everything at a certain distance is in focus. You certainly can manually focus for every shot but the camera wasn’t necessarily aimed for that purpose.

Hey I couldn’t tell in the video, but my camera spool thing above the roll will spin when it is up and back of the camera is open but it doesn’t spin when down and back of the camera is closed like normal film cameras do so you know film is advancing, is that normal.

I recently discovered a Nikonos V from my dad's locker. It's in mint condition and the film counter window was at 28th exposure and I fired some shots and it was in 36th. So I assume it works fine. But the problem is, the back of the camera doesn't pop open, when I press the red button and turn the ring :(. What should I do?

With age and use the backs can stick. The simple answer is to help it by prying it open but I don’t know the situation so can’t say for sure.

Two possibilities in my mind. One, you loaded the film and wound tight enough at the beginning that you get an extra frame or so. Two, you advanced two much or too hard at the end and broke the film from the spool and that's letting you advance an unlimited amount of times. Hopefully, it's possibility number one.

What can I do if my rewind spool thing is jammed ? Just happened as I was trying to load film in (for about the 4th time have never had any problems before)

Never mind I fixed it! It wasn’t moving for a while not sure why but I took a shot and just kept playing around and it un jammed itself haha

I'm having trouble loading the film, the advance lever seems to be stuck. Just realized the camera doesn't have any batteries in it. Do I need batteries in it to load the film? What batteries do I need? Thanks!

I know for sure you don't need batteries to advance the film because I mess with the camera all the time and the batteries are dead. The manual for the camera can be found online, Google it and it should pop up among the first couple links.
