How to locate gold without a metal detector

excellent explanation! Problem about gold taking the shortest way are not only the disturbing elements, but also the third dimension. I.e. there are layers and they are inhomogeneous as well. Solution: shovel it all, down to the bedrock, afterwards, you know, where the gold was 💪🤠👍. Of course that's often not possible, therefore it's great to have such experienced guys like Two Toes, sharing their detailed knowledge. Thanks for a great video!

So happy for this video...Your early videos taught us to read the river and where and what to look for...and you used a pan alot of the time. I learned a lot and it has helped me in my own gold pursuits up here in WA state, even. That bedrock is amazing....I work gravel and cobble mostly.....Best wishes, man!

All your presentations are informative & great watching Gary! This one is "right up there", great refresher! For me anyway, on the fundamental aspects of "reading a river"(its course, its deposition of boulders on down to the smaller materials/their ballpark densities, even the vegetation!) I'll surely apply more attention to the leeward side of the large battered snarls hang'n on, when I'm out "trash collecting"(mostly nails, lead, etc😉)at a local waterway or 2..

Hydraulic flow will definitely tell you where the gold drops and like you said many obstacles can change the way the gold gets deposited .sometimes the overburden is ridiculously deep and most people don’t understand that in high flow sometimes a foot or more of the overburden is fluid causing the gold to drop right through it that first spot you were in with the large boulders looked great if the overburden wasn’t to deep there would be larger pieces for sure. This video reminded me it’s been way to long since I’ve been out and gave me the fever lol thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻

Always learning......so many variables and expectations to the "rules"! Atleast you were able to weigh in tenths.......I need scales that'll weigh 10,000ths

.14 is a good day for someone like me so not bad going.😂👍💛 I would of tried round them bushes in the roots for a good crevice. Takes more time but roots are great obstacles for anything to get stuck.😉👊 great video as always Gary.

Thank you for the tips. Yes most people do not have a metal detector to find gold. I have one but it doesn’t find gold, just change at the beaches. $1-$2,000 pretty steep for those good detectors.

I like to look for cracks and crevices that run down under the gravel. Most people won't take the time to dig but a little effort can turn up big rewards... well, we don't have BIG gold here but following a hunch and being right is a big reward unto itself.
