The dislike is a bacteria who had to move out because of the cleaning process Edit: Tofu asmr is content I would subscribe to! Edit2: Yes I love watching guinea pigs drink, and I should be doing stuff, but when I see them eat and drink I feel relaxed. I know they are ok!
Same. Basically, gravity and suction. Fill the bottle to where it’s barley overflowing, screw cap on, squeeze bottle lightly until a bubble of water appears at the end of the nozzle, flip over, and wham you’re done!
I watched him drinking it too. Mine always pull the nozzle toward them when drinking and you can hear it when they do and nobody else's piggles in any of these videos seem to do that when the vast majority of mine always did especially the males.
I did it. Alot of the time i was comparing how Tofu and my guinea pig Autumn drink. Tofu looks so sweet and polite drinking from her bottle and meanwhile Autumn basically swallows the whole thing before he drinks from it 😆
For cleaning the metal spout I use a q-tip to get it clean, and I use rice or lentels to clean the bottle part! Hope that helps someone 😉 BTW I just realized that tofu looks almost exactly like my guinea pig fleur ❤😊
I was able to understand you well, but I really appreciate the effort you put into providing the captions. Thanks! Edit: Must be great for those who can’t have the volume on loud too 👌
For some reason the puppy store gave us this exact water bottle for my new baby! This video gave me everything I need to know about this water bottle because I was completely lost 😅! Thanks!
Omg thanks so much 🙏 My pig water battle leaked all the time and the cage would get very wet but I just used your advice and there is no more dripping from the bottle
I also use a natural dish soap, I've never had a problem. I love to have my bottles very clean as well, although my piggies aren't big drinkers, I always use 2 bottles in my 2 giant c and c cages, and use Brita water. I use the q tips as well, I don't remember where I got that hack from though. Rinsing thoroughly is also important, as you said, hopefully any younger viewers watching this will be motivated to do this, considering the King of Guinea Pigs is making this video, lol!!🤗😉
Hello GuineaDad, I tried doing everything you said to do. I have glass bottles and the neck of the bottle is like a soda or beer bottle. It’s not flat. After carefully following your instructions, I still had leaky bottles. So being discouraged, I tried something different, aside from your cleaning instructions. I filled the bottles up, almost to the top. I put the little plastic carrot (that came with the bottle)and added a little more water to the very top of the bottle. I carefully put the spouted cover back on the bottle and tightened as tight as humanely possible. I carefully hung the bottle back up and wah-laa- no leaking. I don’t know if filling up the bottle to the very top-may have kind-of created sort of a vacuum, but the bottle continued to “not” leak. Although, I also agree with you, that some bottles are just leakers-no matter what you do. Keep your info coming. I love your “ikea table” cage. Great idea.
Omg INSTANT Non Leakage !! I Bought A Brand New And Bigger Bottle And It Just Ran And Ran Lol And All I Needed To Do Was Create Basically A Suction !! Much Appreciated Friend 😊
What keeps Tofu from dragging the drip mat all over the cage? My boys like to rearrange things and I can see them moving it from under the bottle to just about anywhere in their cage...
Have you considered or tried glass bottles? We got a glass bottle because of our own experiences with plastic water bottles for humans making water taste like plastic. Maybe they're picky about the water because they can taste the plastic? Glass bottles are heavier and easier to break though. Just curious!
Great video @Guineadad i never really disected the bottle down to the washer (black rubber thing) but now im defintely gonna make that a routine very informative as always 💪, btw whats that board called one where you slip the bottles through for tofu ?
i have the same water bottle for my girls, they drink a LOT of water!! tofu reminds me of one of my old piggies as well, she used to spend a lot of time drinking after the bottle was cleaned, refilled, and put back!
I use a paper towel wrapped around a chopstick to get the parts inside that you can't get without a bottle brush to kind of get off everything built up inside the water bottle to make sure it is entirely clean inside because I have an impossible time finding a bottle brush to fit so I can use it for their water bottle instead which is why I do it that way and I use q tips to clean inside the nozzle and make sure it stays clean too and I wash the water bottle constantly because they drink a lot and I have to refill it entirely every 2 and a half days usually if that long.
My best friend has human babies, so I just use her old bottle cleaning brushes to clean my piggies water bottle. 🙃 It is very convenient to get into the crevices.
I only give them bottled or filtered water only because our water does not always meat the water quality standards and we frequently have boil water advisories so I do not just give them unfiltered tap water and never did in all the time I have ever had guinea pigs.
When I first saw my guinea pig drinking for a long time I thought I bought a defective bottle that didn’t let the water through but after an hour of testing and putting the bottle back in the cage I realized how much my guinea loved the water!!
Just want to say that I use the choco-nozzle water bottles from Amazon and they absolutely do not leak EVER!! I've also never had a problem with the ball sticking. There's no squeezing of the bottle to get out air or anything else. Also, the threads on the nozzle are designed to be the same as a standard soda bottle. So it comes with a 12 oz bottle but you can put a 20oz, 1 liter or even a 2 liter if you support it somehow. Of course they still need to be cleaned but I don't know what kind of magic is inside the nozzle (it's not a 2 ball system) but they don't leak. I've had 2 of them for over 3 years and no issues. I think it's important to have a bottle that doesn't leak for 2 reasons, first you can see how much they're actually drinking and second the cage stays dry
Glad it's working out for you. I think experience depends, I actually tried the bottle twice, but they both got stuck so girls couldn't get water out. I think I've tried almost every brand of bottles out there, and I just ended up with this one (leaks more than others due to larger size, but holds more water and gives easier access to water) because of Peanut, who had mild case of UTI in the past.
@@GuineaDad I did get one that leaked like crazy, exchanged it for another and never had an issue. I only mentioned it in case you'd never tried one but if it doesn't work for you then stick with what does.
So, this can fix a regular leaky water bottle but lets say that the bottle is pouring out lots of water when pressing into the bottle. Not just a couple droplets but non-stop flow of water. Do I just replace the nozzle or what??
I buy glass water bottles that have a rubber stopper in them to hold the nozzle. I have the same 4 bottles I bought 2 years ago and they have never leaked. I got them from Walmart.
I can see that it could work for rabbits or some piggies as well, but I usually don't recommend bowls because it could get contaminated easily when guinea pigs run (they do this a lot) and poop falls into water.
So I do all this stuff. I use the stop bc it fits but I use a bunch, I also bag it bc it knocks stuff lose. I took my finger the same way right under the rim lol. Great minds think alike. Great video.
I have a Guinea pig that is bloated and currently has some sort of brain problem. (We brought her to the vet.) Any advice on what to not do during this period of time?
A better trick is a teaspoon of rice placed in the bottle with the soap and when you shake it up the rice acts as a scrubber and clean everything inside the bottle without the need for the wire brush which can be kept for cleaning the spout.
GuineaDad I found it one of the best things for old rice that’s too hard too cook 😹😹 I have rice that I used as pastry bake to stop the pastry base bubbling when cooking and as such can not be used as cooked rice anymore😹😹 so I use it for cleaning bottles and just place it into the compost when finished 😹😹😹 Just a thought if you wanted to make a bit of extra money why not sell the droppings and old hay/straw for compost bins and gardens 😊😊
Thank you! I did all the things you mentioned in this video and hopefully the water bottle that Sanji and Usop has will stop leaking too much. I’ll let you know if it work!
I'm not about to read 225 comments to see if someone else already said so, but to skip to the tip on reducing leakage, jump to about the 6 minute mark: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7DS6phIuOhg.htmlsi=rYo1EP5ntMVaLXmF&t=366 This tip won't work for glass bottles or for bottles made of plastic that could break if you squeeze it.
I don't do different things about cleaning. I do not understand almost does not drink any water does not decrease at all. I'm making a mistake about nutrition? Is there a vlog about nutrition?
Thanks for watching! It's very important to make sure they drink water because it could lessen the chance of getting UTI or kidney stones. It could be that they are getting a lot of water from other sources as well. So generally, you need to have unlimited access to hay/grass, 1 cup of veggies per day per guinea pig (I usually give bell peppers, red or green leaf lettuce, or cucumber) everyday, and water (recommend bottle, not bowl) . We will cover some basics again in the future!
Great video!❤🐹 I got a question: I have two new guinea pigs, and they refuse to drink from the bottle. It’s a new, clean bottle but whenever I put it to their mouth, they don’t want to drink. They only want to drink from a bowl, but that gets dirty all the time so it’s not useful. How can I direct them to drink from the bottle instead of the bowl?
To help your guinea pigs transition to a water bottle, make sure the bottle is working correctly and that the nozzle is placed at their head height. Entice them by rubbing mashed fruit on the nozzle to encourage licking, and gradually reduce water in the bowl while keeping the bottle accessible. Be patient, as it may take time for them to adjust, and monitor their drinking habits discreetly to confirm they're using the bottle
Does anyone have advice in keeping the floors dry near bottles?? My little one keeps drinking water and starts playing with the ball, he makes a fat mess and hates the wet blanket and hay afterwards. It's to the point of daily changes in his cage. I've tried putting a plastic catcher near the water bottle and he flips it and plays with it. Idk what to do anymore 😭😭
I understand your struggle! Try placing a small absorbent mat or towel under the water bottle. You can also use a drip catcher specifically designed for water bottles. Hope this helps! 🐹💧😊
Hi! They're out of stock on Amazon at the moment but you can buy them here: (guineadad.com/collections/guineadad-liner-2-0/products/guineadad-liner-add-ons)
thank so much my mom yells at me because i fill there bottle then i leave come back and it’s gone and there bottle is giant so it makes no since but at last i found out it was leaking ugh 😑
The best height is just above head height, so that when they look up the end of the spout is level with their mouth. Obviously if you have different-sized guinea pigs (such as a sow and her babies), you'll need to find a position that's comfortable for all of them, or give them two bottles at different levels.
