In this video I will teach you how I created a Baby Memory Blanket for my daughter.
The supplies I used include:
- Sewing Machine (Singer Heavy Duty 4452)
- Quilt Batting
- Safety Pins or Pins
- Clamps for sewing
- Rotary Blade
- Cutting Mat
- Iron (or Heat Press)
- Fusible Interfacing
- Satin Binding

This turned out so beautiful!! I’ve been saving lots of shirts (his soccer, baseball & run club jerseys & shirts) or meaningful clothing to make him a quilt. He lost both parents 5 years apart (my son, his dad, at 4 yrs old & his mom at 9 yrs old). He’s turning 12 in March so I think I’m going to wait until his 13th birthday to make it but made me feel better about making it lol. This will be my first sewing project too & a very meaningful one as well

Is it possible to sew through if Jan zipper or will I have to remove the zipper and sew the design back together ?

Hi I’m a fellow sewer and yes you sew through zippers if they’re the plastic ones just take it slow so you don’t break a needle. I wouldn’t recommend selling through metal zipper. If you’re worried about breaking a needle, you could get as close to the zipper as possible, making sure you backstitch before and after the zipper and then go to the other side of the zipper do the same thing and then you could hand tack where the zippers at. No need to deconstruct the clothing. You can make it work!!
