Hi Skyler, you explained the process to make the boxes very well. It is also good that you explain your mistakes that makes everyone aware of what to be careful of. The choices of wood and the design were a good match to make beautiful boxes. Thank you for the video looking forward to the next one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have a 2 terriers, a Scottish and a West Highland White. The plaid pattern on the box makes it a nice box for treats. I may make several of these as gifts for other Scottish, Westie, and Cairn terriers owners. Thank you for sharing. And, the explanation of the mistake helps me avoid making the same error (although I probably will anyway).

they all look great. Not everyone would have noticed that it was not a perfect wrap. I have done the same thing. worked on a project all day and it does not turn out like I wanted and made me feel like I wasted the entire day but it was a good learning experience. They are beautiful. I love the color combinations.

I just found your channel and am glad I did. Good stuff! Thanks for showing your mistakes... that earned a like and subscribe. :) I actually quite like the randomness of the line pattern in the "screwed up" box... it's not really screwed up at all! Beautiful work!

When you look at a daisy you’re at awe at its beauty. And yet individual pedals are not the same size. Sometimes Symmetry is boring and predictable. Mistakes such as this is the mutation that leads into new avenues of innovation and creativity. Good job. Thank you 😊

I'm retired now but all thru my working career when I messed up I said to myself "That's one more mistake I will never make again" So you see as you mess up, you become more aware of the consequences of your actions and thus become smoother , more accurate and make far fewer mistakes. And around age 45 or so work life becomes a breeze.

I'm very impressed with the complexity of the design from such simple pieces. Nice work! I have to confess that I don't think I could make those tiny ⅛" inlay strips. Are you cutting them on your table saw? I'd be terrified!

nice ....i like the random lined box , much harder to do that on purpose so i consider that kind of mistake a gift :) I use to do custom airbrush paintwork on cars and occasionally you would get some imperfections in the paint so i would just paint some random bug or creature over it......always got favorable remarks about that stuff

Skyler, just an off-topic comment. It seems you got your Sawstop only weeks ago. I can't help but notice it's appearance in your video. It does not look like a new table saw and that's a good thing! No one could ever accuse you of not using your tools. There is saw dust all over the cast iron, the fence, the extension wing and your outfeed table. Your fence has scratches and scars. I think it's awesome and applaud you for putting the table saw and all your tools through the paces. Keep it up!
@woodworkingwithSkyler

:) thank you. I been using it every day ( 8+ hours each day). It’s a tool and intend to use it as a tool. Not afraid of getting it dirty or scratched…. I just don’t want it to cut my finger off!

I first resaw some lumber to a bit over 1/8 in. Then I took it to drum sander to get it to 1/8. Then cut strips on table saw using zero clearance tape. You can also buy lumber in 1/8 in thickness, I put some in the description of video
