Click on the link in the description to go to Xtool page ( if you use my link I get a small commission, if you don’t, I don’t) then once on Xtool page go to menu on top left and choose trade in. Claim your reward. I am glad you like the coin, you are very welcome. The coins go a little slow on this machine as is only 2w for infrared and you need pretty high power and low speed for this particular material. The new F1 ultra Xtool announced will have 20W fiber laser which engrave metal way faster
Got to love chatoyancy! I recommend you play with mulberry wood sometime. The shade change due to the angle at which light hits the wood grain looks really interesting on the yellow tone of fresh worked mulberry.
The answer’s simple: Take the two sides apart, then move the left side to the other side of the right side. Then the left side will be on the right side, and the right side will be on the left side. At that point, now the right-left side will be the same as the left-right side. Or lighter. Or darker…
Hi Grover, I had this happen to me twice in last week. I am thinking is something do do with the way the grain runs absorbing or reflecting light. I really like the grain in that piece but now it’s unusable because of this problem
Yes, I always learn from your videos as well. I would temporarily ad a couple of small boards to the inside of the box with double stick tape to hold what will be the two halves together and in place while routing that separating cut, or maybe it would be better to do the separating cut on the table saw as there is less that can go wrong with a blade cutting parallel to your cut as opposed to the spinning router blade pulling to the side. Make sense?
Skyler.....what a great project. I bought your cat pattern and it makes a wonderful and artistic scroll cat. Can you tell me where you bought the other cat pattern that you showed at the beginning of your video???. I can't find it right now. thanks much. Also, love all your box videos....!!!!
Hey again . I noticed your reviews of the xTool S1 40-watt and the WeCreat 20-watt lasers detailed work is similar on both lasers. So, my question is: for the new WeCreat 40-watt, would you consider it over a 20-watt laser for what you do? I like the xTool S1, but there is no camera and it is overpriced. Some people claim a 40-watt laser isn’t going to give you detailed engraving, but your engraving on the 40-watt is impressive. I am about to plunge in to getting the new WeCreat 40watt today but will wait for your feedback. So, what are your thoughts? (I submitted the same comment on your other WeCreat video, trying to get your feed back today)
@@woodworkingwithSkyler Wow, I didn’t expect an answer this quick. My budget is around 2,100. Amazon has the S1 20watt w/riser, tumbler, air assist for 1,887. WeCreat new 40watt is nearly the same as S1 with discount. Don’t have the budget for the S1 40watt. What would you do in my case? Also, If I get the S1 20watt, module can be upgraded to 40watt but that alone is 1,499. Again, thank you so much for quick reply 🤗👍
@@LouRao it all depends on what are you using the laser for. If doing mostly engraving, 20w is all you need. If you never engrave material thicker that 3/4 in, you don’t need riser ( not sure about rotary
@@woodworkingwithSkyler Thanks for the info. I ordered the xTool S1 40-watt on Amazon. I think I got a good deal. I paid $2,049 with the honeycomb tray and air assist. They had a 20-watt with a honeycomb tray, air assist, riser (not pass-through), and a rotary for $1,878, but I went with the 40-watt and decided to get the accessories little by little. Thanks again.

@@woodworkingwithSkyler are those features worth the extra money? Also, can the machine work without a laptop or pc. Can it work with a tablet or phone?
I have lots of problems with hinges. The main problem has been mentioned below : not getting the drill hole in the EXACT centre. People recommend centre drills but they do not make them small enough for small hinges. I think the solution is to make or buy small punches that are an exact fit to the holes in the hinges. Greetings from Cairns, Australia.
why download this at all...? It's just a wood copy of a commercially made and produced pusher. It's easy to make if you know how to draw. Any idiot that knows anything about drawing and woodworking can make this for free... so why waste 5 bucks just for a digital file download...? I'm just sayin. This is a scam and ripoff, save your money.
Great idea for the box lids ; no need for hinges. I have been trying to hinge my box lids but I only seem to get them correctly fitted 50% of the time. Your method is so much better. I tried it today for the first time and it worked well.
I never liked the plastic ones, I thought it was just me and I never complained about them. You are the first person I have seen speak up about them. Beautiful and charming, I will watch your videos. I actually got in trouble for cutting into a plastic push stick at work.
