Here is a new take on an inline spinner lure using construction materials I had laying around the job site to create spinners that are incredibly cheap and easy to make.
Using steel wire, galvanized steel strapping, nuts and foil tape, I will take you through a tutorial of how to make a very simple design, and also more complex (still very easy) version of this effective spinner.
Materials used:
Nasshua Foil Tape
Oatey Metal Strapping
#6-32 StainlessMachine Nuts (galvanized would work too)
18 Gauge Galvanized Steel Wire
#10 Mustad Treble Hooks (cheaper would work too, but I'd rather spend my money on good hooks)
8mm plastic beads
Tools used:
Pliers
Tin Snips
Tight lines everybody and don't forget to click subscribe and hit the like button if you enjoyed the video! If you end up making some of these lures, let us know in the comments how it went.
PEACE!

I thought I was the only one who did this. I make jewelry and one day thought lets make a lure. They actually worked. Now I am whittling bass poppers. Fun, fun, fun.

Nice video. I have been tying my own flies for years and just bought a lure wire twist tool. I have been wanting to make combination spinner bait fly lures and your video has given me some good insight. I never thought of painting lead weights for bodies, very innovative. Thankyou, and just subscribed.

Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it! The twist tool is very handy for the thin wire.

You created it, so the question is did YOU ever try it and did it work?

Yep! The trout in the video was caught with the lure. I had some better footage of the catch, and the release but accidentally didn't press record 🤦‍♂️

Interesting video ! I don't think this way is that cheaper than buying spinner components and beads and a coil of stainless steel piano wire ??? Maybe a tight bit ? Is it worth it ?.... But interesting :)

Idk! I think it's like $0.45 per lure. Thanks for watching!

@@EParkFishing OK it's cheaper ! Including the hooks "VMC", my spinners cost me about $0.75 to $0.90... ;)

@@Bilbo0472 I think the extra time it takes making the blades you may as well buy them. Good experiment though.

Your snips are getting stuck because you never cut wire with them. Only for cutting sheet metal, the wire puts burs in them that make them stick and cut like crap. I work with sheet metal and my helpers mess up my snips cutting wire. Just trying to save you some money on tools, use dykes to cut wire and snips to cut the metal strapping. Good design

Your theory makes no sense at all you still used beads and metal hollow beads are still cheaper than Stainless steel nuts and have more flash lead weighs more and costs less and for the blade you could have gone to the second hand store and got a spoon for a dime or a quarter would have worked WAY better than plumber strapping also most hooks cost 50 cents and up anyway so how does this work out to be 50 cents?..... Just curious ? how many fish did you catch with this spinner!?
