My sister & I saw the Wilton section at Walmart & decided "ooh let's make cakes" so we bought basically everything lmao, and let's just say it was a FAIL 😂 21 eggs & 6 sticks of butter later, everyone wouldn't stop asking me why my cake looked like a sponge & My buttercream was a disaster lol, everything was a disaster 😂. I'll be sticking to makeup & watching you make your cakes lol

This right here is my favorite cake because Yo is so fun and relaxed. In fact, the part in the video where she asks her model - her plastic chip and dip bowl - to go and wait in the waiting room - "thank youuu..." - is my very favorite Yo moment maybe ever. From what I've done with it, it does make the cake a bit sweeter, but it's not excessive unless you put too much on.

It depends on the type of cake. Yo's cake is pretty dense so far as cakes go (in a good way!). Simple syrup works really well with that type of cake and doesn't make it sweet or soggy. If you were to use a more moist cake that was delicate it wouldn't really help the texture. That type of cake really doesn't need the simple syrup. However, you wouldn't want an excessively moist cake when making a novelty cake.

Jyotsna Sridhar I made a lot of cakes when I was 12, 13, and 14 (which is how old I am now). But usually they’re just with buttercream, I’ve only done a few fondant cakes, because it’s so much harder, and I don’t do very many of Yo’s cakes because they almost all have fondant and take forever.
