This was an incredible dessert. A Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie on the Big Green Egg.
To make this cook even simpler than already is separate this into three parts. Melt the butter, white sugar, cane syrup, and maple syrup together. In a separate bowl combine eggs, salt, vanilla, and bourbon. Slowly pour the warm sugar mixture into the second bowl while stirring. Once combined add pecans and melted chocolate chips. I did not melt the chocolate chips and I wanted to suggest to accomplish this step.
I cooked the pie on the Big Green Egg (kamado style BBQ) with the deflector plate installed to create a hot indirect heat environment. I cooked it at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Chopped Pecans 1 Cup
Chocolate chips 1 Cup
Bourbon 1/3 Cup
White sugar 1 Cup
Cane syrup 1/2 Cup
Maple syrup 1/2 Cup
Butter (1 stick)
Salt 1/4 tsp
Vanilla 1 tsp
4 eggs
