Good evening just wanted to stop in and tell you how awesome your tutorials are as a beginner was easy to follow your instructions thank you this was a fun project cute bun tuque enjoyed thanks. Think everyone one on my pony tail list is going to get one again thanks.
Great idea with the elastic ties. I'm not crazy about the seam, also the hat seems a little small. I would do another round of increases of 2 hd crochet and then an increase, all the way around. I also do continuous hd crochets, marking each round with a stitch marker. Last round at the end of the round do hdc, single crochet, slip stitch.
The circumference of my head is 21 inches around. So idk if I crochet tighter or not but I made mine a little bigger. First row 13 HDC, INC in every st around in 2nd row for a total of 26 sts. And 1HDC in the first st and INC in the second st repeating around for a total of 39 in the 3rd row. I hope this helps anyone else out if the hat is too tight. Thank you for this video tutorial. Im excited to make more messy bun hats with my bulky yarn stash.
Yes, I’m glad you confirmed my thoughts, Amy! My hair is in locs and that initial row will be too small for my bun. I’m even considering going to 14 on the first row and decreasing towards the end to taper and tighten near my face. Thanks! 🧶❤️
I found your cute messy bun hat by accident and just love it. Your directions are easy, clear and doable for a beginner. I tried to find your website to get the pattern but unable to locate you. Please tell me you are still Therapy in Knots.
I haven't attempted the project yet (I've got enough commissioned knitting projects to finish first before attempting crochet, haha), but I've just watched the full video and I thank you for making the first crochet hat tutorial I think my VERY beginner self might actually be able to follow. (I find even videos labelled "beginner" seem to be WAY over my head; crochet is just such a foreign art form! Haha) Thanks - can't wait to try it! 😊
Lol! At the single crochet row i had to undo two stitches because I did hdc’s too! I have to really watch myself because my hands seem to have a mind of their own. Great tutorial! 💗thank you!💗
Hi! I have ordered all of my labels from etsy. My favorite two stores are All This Wood and Idaho Taylor Made. They both do a very good job and the pricing is fantastic!
