Andrew : Great video! Can you show me how you set the stone next? Also I have learned so much from you in the past four months! I am a retired police officer that has always wanted to learn how to silversmith. I have purchased all the rudimentary equipment including a Smith Little Torch but because I reside in Medina, Ohio USA have no one in my area who gives lessons so I depend on your videos for instruction! I have made a number of coin bezels and bails but would like to start making rings, pendants and bracelets! Please keep the videos coming! Wish you lived close by so I could take lessons directly from you! Keep the great work! Ron Medina, Ohio USA

GREAT VIDEO👍 I am physically disabled and have decided to start a new career in jewelry. These videos have been very, very helpful. I’ve learned things here not taught in standard course work elsewhere. I’m grateful for all the hard work you’ve put into this video series Andrew and hope to thank you personally one day.

Im a retired hobby machinist working in my shop everyday. One day my girlfriend she asked me to make a ring for her. That got me hooked into jewelry about 2 months.. A good stay at home hobby. Ive already made a couple of good looking wire rings. This is me first look at rings with stones. I look forward to all you videos. Much to learn from a master.

Can’t say enough how much I love 💗 💕this video!! This is now one of my favorites!! Everyone in my Metal smithing class knows I’m big on learning new ways to make claw & basket settings. I’ve been following your teachings for a couple of yrs. now & have learned more from you than from my teacher. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great teacher. What you do, brings to life, techniques we may already know but see through new lenses!! Keep them coming & Thanks for your contribution to motivating new & experienced Metal Smith wannabes!👍🏻

Love your videos. I am learning so much and correcting the wrong previous methods learned. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Maybe you already covered but just in case: there is a way to also make a prong setting from a flat sheet to avoid also the soldering of prongs? (I still learning) can you make a video about it? I suppose the trick part in on the measurements and I think could be a way to add designs and be more creative. 😊

Love this demo, Andrew! What a great technique for a round stone. Can this same method be adapted for oval shaped stones? If so, what modifications would need to be made regarding shape and size of the stock (i.e., Square vs. round, size - your demo used 3mm square wire), length of cuts for the prongs in relation to the size of the oval stone, for example an 8x10 mm oval? Would love to see this method demonstrated for oval stones.

Great Video Andrew but as a newcomer (VERY) I would like to see a video where you tell the world about the tools you use, where you buy the materials etc. It could include even the basic stuff like hammers, files, saws and blades, burrs etc. In this video you used a brush to clean the piece but what is it? Look forward to more
