How to Make a Colored Epoxy Resin Table 

If the pigment is settling on the bottom, how are you reaching it with your dowel if you are only stirring the top of the epoxy?

I am disabled and don’t have a job, so I’m kinda living vicariously through you because this is something I wish I could do. Anyways really loved the look of the blue pearl with the black walnut

I'm was an 18-year-old construction student living in Ireland (when I first wrote this) and I just spent the past school year building my own blue epoxy resin river table. your 'what not to do' videos helped me so much with building my mold and how best to go about it so thank you so much for the content you create. I was hoping to improve my skills over the summer and make some custom pieces, however I began going to college doing outdoor sports so I havnt had a lot of time! I've made some small things but for the next few years I'll be far too busy getting my windsurfing and rock climbing instructor qualifications and working in adventure centers to get to a shop to build!

Owner of a High Performance floor coating and restoration company! If you mix your powder colour into your epoxy a day ahead of time into your Part A it wont settle out over night after you mix in your part B. We refer to this in the industry as “wetting out”your powder!

My grandfather was a wood worker after he retired from the US postal service, and ultimately introduced and inspired my love for wood working, you sir are an amazing teacher and the people who say you talk too much are wrong! Art Director / Character Designer. Very fun to watch! For the photo shoot, the white background worked better imo simply b/c of the pearl white epoxy coloring mixed in the table. The white background brightens the blue and pearl white epoxy some, and makes the colors shine a little brighter. When you shoot with a black background, it oddly darkens the blue epoxy and really separates that pearl white epoxy where it feels too bright and unnatural. My guess is the black background absorbs too much of the light from your primary light sources and isn't bouncing around enough. Especially not hitting that epoxy as much as it could. You may be able to get away with the black background if you have multiple defused lighting around the room. Any case, I also recognize this video was done like... almost exactly one year ago so I'm sure you have a better photography solution now. Keep up the awesome work!

I absolutely love the blue/pearl resin and the islands!! Super job! If I get around to starting to make these myself, that is the look I will strive for. Again, how practical and stable would the table be if it had solid slabs of the same wood and finish for the legs in place of the "box" type legs you made on this one? Thanks for this build! I have recently gotten into epoxy pours, and purchased a CNC Router, doing plaques and stuff. Engineer in MI. Hi Cam - love your videos, they are so helpful! I just poured my first epoxy table and after drying there is a slight gap (1/4") between the resin and the walnut sides. Can I scuff the resin and pour the liquid glass again or should I just sand down/router sled the top off?

I've just watched your video today (September 5th 2022) and I can tell you happily that I built a tea tray as a woodwork school project and the dovetails (we had no machines in Swaziland!) of the tray were so super good that the teacher built a glass cabinet and put my tea tray and hung it on the wall of the classroom. It is still hanging there today.

Walnut and deep blue might be my favorite color mix. I did a charcuterie board a few months ago ( or a few years from now, for the guy in the video) and the colors are just a great contrast.

A skill I wish I had learned by now.,... How to create a bank ... convince one of the biggest countries in the world with the largest growing economy... To give me full control over all of their currency.... In addition to paying the interest on every.. penny... Just think in 50 years they probably owe me trillions of dollars... Nevermind I just googled it the Federal reserve already did that... And this is just a guesstimation 95% of the tools in material used to make this...gorgeous piece of art!!!! Well none of them are made in the US.... It's just an observation in an opinion.... The only thing produced in the United States of America is the centuries-old would you using... And I'm not trying to be condescending or judgmental or anything like that it's awesome it's just.... As a construction worker I did a couple of.. large-scale Chinese restaurants... They had pretty much the same types of tables 20 years ago... With all types of inlays and... But I'm not going to go into details but yeah... I've seen large box trucks with 10 pallets each.. from a distribution center in New York 20 years ago.. the main different was it wasn't US lumber.. keep up the good work.. and if the Federal reserve keeps printing money like they are.. 10 years from now those tables could be worth half a million Federal reserve notes...there are places in Alaska right now that are trying to charge $50 for a pizza.. and don't even get me started on tuna fish.. just look up.. northeast America tuna.. Japan.. and Japanese sushi restaurants in New York... And China....

Love your work. I took woodworking in high school (I'm 75 yrs. old now from south Texas on the border w/ Mexico) and work on a woodworking project occasionally- 2 weeks ago my son & I were making a toilet partition w/ a 2x4 frame & 1x6 T & G slats panel insert. We have mesquite native trees that I would like to process on a band saw sawmill to build tables, frames, shelves, etc., but I am not sure that a sawmill is the right saw for this tree that is hard to get 4 straight feet out of it & it's a hardwood. I am an Architect & I'll see one of your projects every so often. Great workmanship.

I recently subscribed because I really appreciate that you don't bug me to death about it. I love your work and your videos. I also appreciate the fact that you include some of your mistakes in your videos . They add to the entertainment factor. I enjoy working with wood and I'm self taught, and taught myself how to hand cut dovetails because they are so strong as well as aesthetically pleasing. I'm not physically able to do the heavy work anymore but still enjoy the process. I wish I had started learning the craft much earlier in life. You just can't beat a beautifully crafted item created from a warm responsive piece of wood.

I’m 54 and back in high school I figured out that I enjoyed manual labor. At 16 I took a summer job with a building contractor. We did a lot of roof jobs,house remodels that taught me how to build or redo a house ground up. When I turned 47 I was in a accident. This forced and I do mean FORCED me on disability cause walking became difficult due to nerve damage. We lost our bank savings and I sold everything of value to pay monthly bills and food on table. That only went so far for a year and a half until I got my disability. Now it’s day to day. It never ends. I always enjoyed the carpentry side of what I did for years. Building decks and adding some personal tricks customers seemed to like. Woodworking is the one thing I wish I would’ve pursued more. I could’ve been real good and it would have been something I could’ve done at home. I’m amazed by your talent and enjoy watching a good person succeed. Best wishes from Alabama.

Librarian. I just discovered your videos and have been enjoying them all week. I wish I had learned woodworking when I was younger, my grandparents built homes in New Hampshire in the 70's. The smell of fresh cut wood and the sound of saws are some of my earliest memories. I also wish I had learned ballet and ballroom dancing.
