My dog hates to dress up but since it's getting a bit chilly outside, I have to be a mean mother and make him put on a sweater.
I know the hood is, like, completely useless, but it looks adorable on him.

If I may, just to interpret the words below mine: I don't understand English, but I Thank You I didn't need to know it, since you explained step-by-step how to get the measurements and the sewing. Thank you, now I know how to make the basic pattern here, Congratulations! Needless to say, I agree as well! :) I have an 8 month old Jack-Chi who needs a hoodie so he's not cold when we're out walking. Thanks!

I made this for my dog and added some sleeves as well and he just loves it. Yesterday he even went out for his walk in it and was very happy, usually he worries about his street cred - his a Cairn X. I used sew on velcro instead of the zip, and it works well but make sure the hook side is away from their fur otherwise it could get knotted into them and cause irritation.

Your dog is so adorable and totally calm when you're measuring him. When I measure my 10 mos. puppy, he tries to look at the tape measure like, whoa now, what are you going to do with that?

GREAT video and very easy to follow!! I just wish someone would make a tut with long 'sleeves' and 'legs' because my Jacktese is clipped and being winter here, his legs get so cold. He has a sweater with very short sleeves and then his sherpa coat I made, but his back legs get cold. I thought about making sherpa boots for him but I know he would pull them off!! it is easier to make a GIRL warmer because she doesn't need her tummy exposed, if you know what I mean :) Your pooch is sweet!!!

Love your doggies and your hoodie model was definitely well behaved. Both of your dogs look so precious. :0) Anyway, I have 5 Pomeranian's and keeping them in clothes gets expensive. I have not been able to afford hoodies for them nor I have I been successful at making them. I am so happy I found this video and I will definitely be making some hoodies!!!

@Glitterhempfairies yes you can add an inch, but not too much or the arm holes wont be in the right place. MaKe the first pattern out of paper, and compare it to your dog and then add or take off bits until its right. Remember to add about a cm/quarter of an inch for the seams allowance.

I actually managed to make my dog a little sweater on my first try and it looked really neat! Too bad my sewing skills aren't the best and the sleeves kept popping off so I just gave up on it and am now looking for better ways to make him(my dog) a hoodie since it's pretty cold and I don't want him getting sick since he's pretty petite and him getting sick would mean the worse of news

Iv just made one of these up with a hoodie and arms as well. I used polar fleece in a wine colour and it looks very warm. Iv also madeone without a hood but I just needed to add some darts spaced around the neck for it to look right. The only problem I had with pattern was that I forgot to take the check measurement so got the depth of back wrong, but as Id made it from paper it was very easy to alter. Iv now got a pattern that fits my dog perfectly. Great Video!

@Leopardgirl8282 Thanks! He's a 20-pound chihuahua mix, so officially obese but I've tried everything and he just won't lose weight haha. I have a pomeranian terrier also (you can see him in the first and last pictures) but he is way too hyper to model in a video.
