A pretty easy way to spot a newbie producer is if they only follow this rule. There are no rules in music, only guidelines. This "rule" ur refering to is a sound way to make bass "fit", but not how to make it interesting.
808 definitely not fucked up and sounds great. People need to underatand no matter what it's not gonna sound as good on a phone speaker. For those who don't know, put the speaker to your ear & you'll hear the bass better. Great work bro🤘🏼
Maybe the 808s fucked up because he only used one note? It’ll sounds sooo repetitive immediately when there’s only one tone for the 808. Some variation will help grab the attention of the listener. Try it out sometime
That's why ppl add distortion, or pick a one that has enough distortion. It's up to the producer to make sure that the result sounds good across all devices

técnica principal para você criar acordes e por cima criar um solinho de piano.(= cada nota do piano deve ter as mesmas notas do arcode, se não tiver, certifique de colocar. já os arcordes devem ter notas que se repetem (n e uma regra universal, mas isso funciona 👍) wierd style dicas 👌
