Thank you, Leah! I agree about the Steam-A-Steam 2 Lite. I appliqued an owl with about 100 pieces, and the Steam-A-Steam was a great help! Your Goddess is beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing how you quilt her!!

I am very interested in this technique. Does the raw edge fray on something that is washed quite a lot?
@LeahDay
@LeahDay 5 лет назад
Yes, it does unfortunately. If the fabric is ripped to length instead of cut, the edges fray far less.

I think the kink in the works with the fusible web may have been that the little travel iron wasn't hot enough. It seemed that when you hit the project with the "real" iron it tracked properly. Just my thought. Huggs!

I agree with you! It wasn't fun when everything fell apart, but I just decided to keep going and not try to hide the mistake. I hope that helps!

At least the cat didn't come steal a hair curl! I appreciate that you demonstrated how not to swear like a sailor (or that woman who takes over my quilt room... Lol) and calmly and confidently "fix" the problem.

Ya kbow...I have a travel iron from 40 plus years ago, yep 4- 0....that I still had from my flight attendant days. i plugged it in several.months ago, and its a BEAST. I have to watch it very carefully.cause it can burn a hole in the ironing board. it doesn't have a name on it and looks like its from the 1890's ( I flew just after the Wright Bros developed airplanes...levity) But seriously I' ll put that iron up against my fancy ones. I'm just amazed it lasted 40 plus years. Older than you havrme been on Earth....I feel old...anywho, it heats up in like 3.5 mnutes...then I unplug it for a good 6 mins...I dont loan it to anyone cause I dont wanna be sued for damages and dont take it to classes for that reason. It looks innocent, but it usn't... Amazing iron.

Am I still able to get the batik material for this quilt? I can not find the LoveKit - only the pattern
@LeahDay

Nope, I'm sorry! The kits for any quilt pattern are only available for a limited time.

What’s the name of the iron you’re using
@LeahDay

The little iron was a Clover craft iron. The big iron I think is a panasonic.

If you crease a small corner TOWARDS the paper, it will pop off of the fabric. No need for tweezer fingers. LOL
