You have to get sandpaper that fits the ball when you make it round, and then grab the ball with one hand and move the sandpaper with the other instead of using sanding blocks. That's what I did, and it works really well. I've made a lot of aluminum balls this way.

You are on the right track. I seen so many people use two much tin foil at once. The trick is to go a few layers at a time to really get it all compressed down.

You need a good sized piece of a plastic tube to roll around the ball and maintain its round shape. Also do 1/2 inch layers at a time.

Melt tin foil. Pour it somewhere where it can become almost round, wet sand with 600 then 1500 and then with 3000 grid sandpaper and get your angle grinder with a buffing tool (don't use the dremmel) mountain the ball somewhere secure and buff some car polish.

I have done it and it took me 2 days to do. I used carbon oxide aluminium buffing compound and a buffer to make it very smooth and shiny.

The thing is to not sand it I figured out that a slow compression and smooth out with smooth rocks and I also used a piece of wood to smooth it out and what I ended up with was awesomely shinny.

the process does take time but you're supposed to sand it down with a low grit sand paper first then a high grit then use the brissel piece and it comes out much shinier I'm not sure if your supposed to polish it or add a coat of clear spray. I'll have to check out the original video later. Cool vid project anyways 😎

Little but smqller ball, with the core as one sheet (a3 size ish) then wrap a4 ish sheets arround it evenly then compact evenly with rubber or hide mallet. Then thin coat of polish with old rag. Then buff (rub with HUGE pressure) with 2nd clean rag. Do not use dremel tools. Not worth it. Repeat thin coat, buff, thin coat, buff 3-5 times (3-5 thin coats all buffed and lightly sanded with really high grit sand paper 2000+ grit between each coat). Ball COMPLETE!! NOTE: start with a very round core to get a nice round ball at the end. And keep even layers of foil on top of the core. Hope this helps!!!!
