An important clarification with regards to grain direction in bookbinding is that the grain (short or long) of all your materials should run in the same direction. Always. For example, the cover paper, the cloth, the cover board and paper sections should all run with the same grain direction. This is especially valid if you are gluing different materials together. If you don't do this, your differing materials will stretch and pull in different directions (left and right v up and down) and will result in unwanted bends and curves throughout your book as your materials stretch at differing ways when glued. Rule #1 in all bookbinding. Well done to Fotospeed for producing this paper. Been waiting for ever! Very few photo paper manufacturers offer this apart from very basic matte paper options. I've bought some already and its fantastic for photo book making. Chapeau!

Really interesting technique and very well explained - enough for me to have a go myself. Of course with the duo paper it’s possible to print on both sides so the book could accommodate more images without having too many sheets of paper. Great for making gifts but I would have liked to have been able to get A5 size paper with the correct alignment of short grain also. Well done on the comprehensive tutorial.
