A short (ish) tutorial on how A.SAVA-custom builds some of it's JDM Style fishing rod handles with a mix of EVA, cactus burl cork and ALPS MVT Rapid Spin reel seat.
Uses power wrapper, Dremel, epoxy and whatever necessary. It's a bit more advanced tutorial, not only basic stuff, but can be adapted to be used with a drill as well.

What epoxy are you using on the reel seat and glueing all your grip pieces together with? I tried this on my carbon fiber foregrip KPDS and it was too runny and the end caps would come Off because it was not “sticky” enough.

No matter what epoxy you are using, you have to keep everything in place until the resin hardens. I use Thread Master 15min in the winter and ProGlue in the summer :D.

WSB TV thanks for the heads up. I was using paper towel and isopropyl alcohol to clean everything up and I think I’ll have to swap over to the denaturalised. I was also worried about any excess epoxy sticking to the masking tape.

Design of the handle. USDM rods have picked up on JDM style designs years later... and only with newer companies. The old companies, St.Croix, G.Loomis, Lamiglass... etc still have old classical handle designs compared to JDM rods, even China made rods...

Ba esti nebun? Pai e de lucru la ele nu gluma....adica eu imi imaginam cu totul altceva ca faci tu la o lanseta Andrei....credeam ca toate...plutele...manere...si toate vin perfecte numai le bagi pe fibra cu epoxi si gata.. Jos palaria...bravo pt munca si succes. ;)

Most of them I buy directly from the manufacturer. I am also a distributor for : ALPS, Fuji, Matagi, American Tackle, Phenix, MHX, Fishing Art, Point Blank and others. the rest that I can't buy directly I get from Mudhole.com
