About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

This weekend a friend had a fire that causing damage to his shop. I think that everyone grinding knives should be aware of: After grinding aluminum and steel for several days, a spark set the pile of grindings on fire! "Thermite" is used to weld railroad rails! It is a mix of rusted steel and aluminum powders. When ignited it can not be extinguished with common fire extinguishers (Dry Chemical, CO2, or even water) it has it's own oxygen supply, the rusted steel. This will literally burn thru steel, wood or whatever. Clean up your grindings regularly, particularly if grinding aluminum, and steel alternately. Mark Chapman

SUGGESTON: Instead of putting ur Logo during editing, u could just paint it (decal, adhesive) in strategical places (equipament, table, etc...). It would save u time.... Jimmy Diresta does it A LOT.

That is a great idea. I do need to stencil more of my tools. I would help a lot during post-production as well.😌

I would gladly subscribe to this channel if the content creator would agree to stop ruining perfectly good knives with that horrible finishing texture. It is really impractical from a cleanliness standpoint and detracts from the otherwise simplistic beauty of his handcrafted knives.

@klugkluk
@klugkluk 6 лет назад
Ryter138 he talked about that in his last tool video. It helps the file to not jump/grip better. And you can't forget which side you used, because apparently, there are two different sides.

It also helps keep little metal scrap bits from sticking in the teeth of the file. Those would then create bigger and deeper, uninformed jimps if left in the file.

I don't think you need many comments on such videos, given that you've given step by step comments many, many times in the past. A+ on all aspects.

Side note: there's a bit of high pitch frequencies created as a result of the machines running and being sped up, perhaps you can EQ that out in whatever software you use to edit the videos in. I feel as though many people are commenting about it. That doesn't take away from the fact that the blade looks fantastic though
