That was great. But I think education may be destined to become exclusively for work training from here on out. It seems that there is always a price to pay for creative autonomy, and if you want it in this day and age, you have to sacrifice being a cookie-cut corporate employee who does well in the work world. I've also wondered what it we're here to do on this planet. It would seem through the lens of mortality, the dead poets, philosophers, scientists, etc. that it might not matter what we do from the viewpoint of death or end of life. Life itself is the marble and we carve into it shadows of our imaginations. Your speech was quite inspiring.
I chose to do what I have a passion for doing and enjoy watching your videos. I don't plan on being rich and famous for my artwork. I don't plan on driving luxury cars and living in a mansion. I plan on having a life doing something creative and pleasing for me. If by chance I make a good living from it only means that there are others out there that share my vision of creativity. Keep up the great work, you are inspiring others to make things.

Well said sir. I am a registered pharmacist, or druggist and spent roughly 8 years of my life in training for a profession that is not my passion. I am good at my job, I do like it and I do help loads of people but I would not say it is my calling. It is important to try for a job you don't loathe, but we shouldnt be telling kids to hinge the entirety of their future on following their dreams. The advice I give young people now (including prospective pharmacy students) is to try a skilled trade. The training takes less time, you make money during your journeyman, and you don't come out of college with debt equivalent to 150% of your annual salary. The cost of most college degrees at this point in time outweighs their value - at least in America.
Paul Dove I just don't think students should be lied to about what it is they will be doing when going to higher education. I don't think I would have gone to university if it was as expensive as it is now.
