Thanks so much Kyle! These last couple of weeks, I haven’t been overly pleased with the videos, but we’ve been focusing on learning the new camera and editing software. As soon as we have that stuff figured out, I’ll be back on track.

I thought you were going to add bicycle grips or tennis racquet grips to your Bo staff. You mentioned the diamond grips on the other Bo staff. Great video. I need this to get myself in shape. I just don't like exercising by myself except in a swimming pool. I just bought a sand timer to see if I can get myself to practice with my Bo staff for 5 minutes per day. :) Thank you for your videos. I feel encouraged.
@Karatemart

Awesome, Daniel! That’s so cool that you are using the staff for exercise. I’ve added those types of grips to other staffs and they do work well. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

WOW KYLE!!!! Where do I start!!! It came out really really good! And the grips are pretty awesome! Definitely worth building one! Maybe you guyz could sell raw stock for people! Yeah most martial arts weapons are based on the user’s own body dimensions. So cutting that to exactly your height is awesome. There’s a Kung Fu style that cuts them to the user’s eye brow height and of course the Jo which is the height of the middle of the chest. It’s pretty awesome that you’re teaching the true principles of weaponry. That green staff is really pretty sweet looking! The titanium stuff you’re making is definitely really really cool!!! I’ve made kama blades out of it. It actually sharpens up pretty decently! Love the diy videos! Thanx Brother!!!
@Karatemart
@Karatemart 2 года назад
Thanks brother! I’m not the biggest fan of this video because of the mistakes we made with the camera, but I appreciate it! Kama blades are a perfect example of something that titanium would be excellent for. Thanks so much for your positivity my friend!

Just for the record, you're looking a lot closer for the small things in your video, I enjoyed this video and didn't notice anything. I'm watching Kyle, who I now know is 6'4" holy cow, and listening to him educate me. Am I too lazy to make my own, maybe not. Thing came out nice though. My staffs are burnt rattan and oak, only 4 feet long, and I'm still knocking out mirrors in my bedroom. So, I'm comfortable with the shorter one. But hey, I'm only 5'9" and that's tall for an Italian. Now we were doing staff work at my school just this week, combinations and such. Same question in my head is, just can't walk around with one. Although, once you work with a staff, anything handy at "that" moment that can be used as a staff, will do. Canes, umbrellas, even a broomstick. But it sure would nice to be walking around with a staff. Anyway, always a pleasure watching and listening to your excitement when you do the videos, and as a matter of fact, 3 days ago I received 4 of the 130db keychain alarms for KarateMart. All good stuff. See you next week!

At one time, they were trying to develop aluminum armor for tanks. If they made tubes of that alloy, I'm guessing that they would be plenty strong for any striking that you wanted to do. I'd still avoid cutting grooves into aluminum. I'd try to find a way to add grips by raising something over the aluminum.

@@Karatemart Yeah that’s pretty light for a 6.4ft metal staff, even for aluminium. About the right weight for your size and strength 🙂 a bit heavy for a skinny 5.9 foot guy like me 😄 would probably knock myself out or injure my shoulder lol I think I’ll stick with lightweight hardwoods for now 😅✌️ thanks for replying, it’s so freaking hard to get any kind of interaction on here 🤣 I’ll keep your store in mind if I ever have any damn money to buy stuff 😁

It completely depends on the style of martial art being studied. I’ve used 4 foot staves in some martial arts and 7 foot staves in others. I could see that being a very good way to measure it in many of the martial arts though. Thanks so much for watching!

@@Karatemart No problem. Not sure what weapons right now. Considering. I'll be in a Kayak following gold upriver. Pretty microscopic right now. Probably camp and then hike some. We have some big rocks in the river. Foot entrapment is a caution. A steel staff might be good. I was watching the lightsaber spins had 4 yrs MA so I totally got those! Add that to my toolkit. lol. Yeah it's looks like bear, cougar and grow op. threats. Though the grow op. probably would not be present in person. Sometimes they set traps so again hiking staff. Gawd the planning! Bear rounds can't forget those.
