What a great tutorial. My first napkin came out pretty darn good! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain and show all, it makes all the difference.
WOW I've never seen a napkin done this way. I make a lot of napkins for my sisters and usually just do a rolled hem. Going to try this and see how I like it. Would make very pretty christmas napkins. Janet
awesome tutorial and you are an awesome teacher. I now have inspiration and I think I can attempt mitered corners with your help! I use chop sticks for poking out the corners lol left over from a set I had....kept the sticks for some reason I wasn't sure of at the time lol now I know
Terri, I love this tutorial and made beautiful Christmas napkins....unfortunately I did not wash my fabric before making the napkins and now the body fabric (smaller square) does not lay flat. So did my top fabric shrink which caused the body fabric to be too big? I will always wash my fabric before making these from now on....I see no way to fix them other than taking them apart.....thanks for your wonderful video's.
What measurements would you use if you didn't want the border as wide? You mentioned the bigger square needed to be 5 1/2 in wider than the smaller. But if I wanted to make them smaller, with a smaller border, how would you do that? Thanks!
+Shannon D I would cut my top fabric to the size I want. For a smaller border, the difference between the top and back needs to be decreased. So instead of the difference being 5 1/2 make the difference 4 1/2 or even 3 1/2 that will narrow the border. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.
Gail Kantz To do a larger napkin the key is to have the back fabric 5 1/2 inches larger than the top fabric. Example would be if the top fabric is 19 1/2 inches you would use a 25 inch back fabric. Thank you for watching.
Sou do Brasil, adoro teu tutoriais. Porém não sei ler as medidas. Esse que você está fazendo é vim quadrado?? Qual a medida do maior e do menor?? E a medida final??
O tamanho final do guardanapo é de aproximadamente 17 x 17 quadrados
