How to make a No-Sew Fabric 3D Snowflake

These 3D snowflakes are wonderful fabric Christmas ornaments. These fabric 3D snowflakes are a wonderful decoration for your house this winter. Learn how to make a snowflake decoration out of fabric. This easy 3D snowflake decoration requires no sewing. You only need contrasting fabric, ribbon, Heat 'n Bond, scissor and glue gun.

These fabric Christmas ornaments can be made in many sizes from the 15" giant version (shown below) to the smaller 7.5" version (scroll down to see). This is a no sewing required project!
These snowflakes are perfect decorations for the holidays and winter and can be hung from a mantle, as a fabric Christmas ornament, or as a tree topper (if hung from the ceiling or supported with a dowel). Or using suction cups they can be hung from a window.

I made two of these this morning using the bag (24# size) that our dog's food is packaged in and brads (instead of hot glue) for snowflakes that I can hang outdoors. They look great! Thanks for the very useable directions!

I did not measure the three cutting lines. Just cut them evenly and leave about a 1/2" not cut.

I like those pointers, and I use a rotary cutter to make the cuts vs using a scissor. Easier for my old hands...lol.

That is a great idea also. The rotary cutter would make nice cuts but you have to be careful to not cut all the way through! I have seen them made by another you tuber and theirs seemed stiffer, perhaps the grade of heat'n bond and they used. Which heat and bond did you use?

I used Heat 'n Bond lite. They may have used the heavier heat 'n bond.

Do you put the heat and bond on both pieces of fabric?

I was using Heat 'n Bond Lite so I did put it on both pieces of fabric. If you have Heat 'n Bond Ultra, then I would only put it on one side because that's much thicker. Have fun making some snowflakes!

They do not fray since they are bonded together with the heat-n-bond and then cut. The heat-n-bond holds the edges and keeps them from fraying a lot.
