How to make a paracord quick deploy bracelet with the blaze bar 

This is excellent! My unit loves your bracelets more than any other survival bracelets. We have tons of 550 cord and not a single soldier deploys or trains without one. Thanks for the idea. I used this blaze bar knotting technique to make a knife lanyard based on key chains that hang from the belt and extend down into the pocket to hold keys. The lanyards will be presented to the Cub Scouts in my son's den who completed their whittling chip at day camp this year. They will be used to hang their knives which they will also be presented at our pack meeting later this week. The boys will really enjoy these.

Many thanks! This is my new favorite paracord bracelet. After making a couple with the shackle, I decided to use an oblong wooden bead instead to reduce weight and increase comfort. It deploys a bit faster with the bead since you don't have to unscrew the shackle, though the bead is obviously not as useful in a survival situation (thought it might make an impromptu "cork" for fishing with one of the internal strands from the cord). This is a great how-to video. Clear and Concise with good descriptions. That being said, I CANT REPLICATE THIS DAMN THING!. I've noticed my 550 cord seems a lot more stiff and rigid that yours and when I pull it tight it doesn't cinch down as well. It has to be something like that because its hard to mess up based on your video

That is an excellent idea, to use the bow style closure. I like that it comes apart quickly as well. Very useful in situations where time could be of concern. Your stitching technique looks like it would allow you to "weave" in other useful elements while you made the stitch, such that you could conceivably make lanyards, belts, and slings; while embedding D-rings, or other tools that could be used in conjunction with the unwound cord.

Yes, I even say in my vid that carrying cord on you for an emergency is much faster than having to unravel something. Some people love the idea of wearing a functional bracelet including me, and thats why I wanted to make something that does really come undone quickly when needed. I mostly like wearing my designs that have all the skulls and hexnuts like on my etsy store :)

This is probably the best quick release bracelet I've ever seen! About how much cord should be used I don't want to come up short or use too much when I make one

You can do it in 2 colors, although for the purpose of having this bracelet as an emergency source of cord, you will limit yourself because 2 colors will mean using 2 different cords of say 6 feet each. I always make mine in one color, that way I can get 13-14 feet of continuous cord. Hope that makes sense :)

Very clear directions with excellent video. I really like the bracelet on your left wrist with the nuts interwoven. The shackle is a bit much for me I like to pull a knot through the cow hitch. Great idea though.

Very cool weave. I did not really see the point of having something you need to unravel to use when it's made for an emergency. This weave looks like it lays flat enough for a belt too. Your instructions were also very clear. I'll definitely try this when my paracord comes in next week!

Yes, and I make both. I love making stuff with skulls and such, but if you are making something for the purpose of emergency cord, you want to have a bracelet that is simple and easy to take apart when needed. Remember, nothing is better than carrying 50ft or more in a pack, then you don't have to worry about untying anything :)

I would advise against 2 colors for the fact that now you have 2 separate cords rather than one continuous length with one color. To answer your question though, yes it can be done in 2 colors :)

The spool of OD green I got sat a little flat, still holds up to the 550lb rating and all. I have found from time to time that OD green and Black sometimes come a little more flattened out than some other colors, none the less they still have the 7 strands and meet the 550lb test :)

It was right around 14 ft. When doing a regular solomon bar ( cobra weave ) a good rule of thumb is about a ft every inch. Since this bracelet is twice as wide its using more cord per inch of weave. Hope that helps.

Great instructions and an easy to follow video. My question is can this be made with 2-colors? I understand melting the ends of 2 separate pieces together, but can you demonstrate how to keep like colors on the inside as well as the contrast color on the loop edges? Thank You Sir

@hardcoreactionpro I used about 15 ft of cord. You will have a little left over, but its always good to have too much than too little :)

really liked the video! is it possible to not use the cow hitch and still get the same fast deploy by making a loop from the same cord that would substitute the hitch???

I think I do state in my vid that there is no substitution for carrying 50ft of cord in a backpack or 20-30ft of cord in your pocket. That is the FASTEST way to get your cord. At least now you can carry some cord in a bracelet that is MANLY :)

Can You make this with the buckles?

Oh yes, I would believe it would be almost impossible to deploy a belt made in this manner. The only thing I could think of is you would have to start at the end and pull the cord off the 2 loops section by section. Think of it almost as like a snake shedding its skin. Thats the best example I can think of right now lol. There is always untying it the old fashioned way :)

It can be made with 2 colors, however I feel that you compromise the integrity of the cord if you melt 2 of them together. I would just use 2 separate colors hitched next to each other on the start. 2 colors look good together, but for something to wear for looks vs. functional use. Hope that helps lol
