How to make a Peristaltic Pump

In this video I am going to show you how to make a peristaltic pump using commonly available hardware.
This homemade peristaltic pump produces pressure by mechanical constriction along a rubber tube causing the fluid to flow across the pipe.

This peristaltic pump is made using a geared motor, 2 inch PVC pipes and some acrylic sheets.

It will be better if you dont file the pvc pipe to make teeth shapped internal profile. The pump will be more efficient if the internal profile was a round circle. Thank you it was a good job.

if i am using Arduino to give power supply on a specific coding and want a single direction rotation. then i might not need the bidirectional speed controller right ?? or the circuit will still be needed. ??

Well I have got this motor from an old scrap yard and luckly it's a German one .... Extremely good built quality so hopefully it can run a longer period but I doubt it for the period you are demanding .... For that a stepper motor is the way to go

How much is the clearance between the roller and the inner part of the casing?

depending on the tubing wall thickness, for example, the wall thinkness is 2mm, then the clearance should be 3.2mm between the rollers and comprssion block.

What are the dimensions of your bearings? ID and OD? My ABEC 9 bearings are a lot bigger than the ones you've used here.

Dont remember the dimensions yet but ID might be 6mm while OD might be 12mm.

Thanks, my ABEC9 bearings are 22OD 8ID I'll use them but will have to use 2-1/2" Schl40 with shims. Awesome tutorial.

You were doing good right up until you sanded the grooves in the housing, that killed your production, it's best with these types of pumps to have a solid housing grooves let the line bleed backwards.
