I actually love the meaning behind the design I've been listening to Dave since I was a kid and just met him in Tennessee last month at his show it's free so that's really cool you just walk in and watch! Edit didn't listen all the way through the video that's awesome as a gift for him
This is the first video that I watched from you and you have such an amazing gift to create beautiful artwork out of nature itself! You're amazing and I will like and subscribe:)
Thank you! I am glad you liked it :) I am humbled to have your attention for a few minutes :) If you ever need any help with anything just let me know!
U.S. Skull Hunter ahh you actually responded I’m crying and bye I just started collecting these I’m 14 and I really enjoy your vids!!! I have 4 small skulls and 1 coyote skull and your vids have helped me get all of these!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dave should love it! That course costs $135 last time I checked, but it’s worth it all. It’s good practical advice that goes way beyond most church sponsored finance courses that basically tell you to set up a monthly budget and to tithe. Good advice, but nowhere near enough. He teaches you how to negotiate with creditors and to get out of debt and stay out. Worth its weight in gold.
Thanks Jedidiah! We are knee deep in saving for a house so it's not easy but we trust it will make a difference in the future :) Thanks for watching and you make some awesome stuff too!
@@usskullhunter still trying to get that $1000 in the bank lol not far but i listen to him all the time on the radio. I'm lucky they broadcast his show where i live
Ah sweet, thanks Andy! You should definitely give skull carving a try, it's something different and customers really like how customizable it is. Thanks for watching and if you ever have any questions just let me know!
Ok I've gotta ask, how many cameras do you have running during these episodes? lol Just one that you keep in motion, or several? Love your videos, you do such an amazing job, I can't even imagine how much effort you put into editing.
Awe thanks wolfforce! That means a lot coming from another youtuber :) I just use 2. My phone and then a Canon. I try to do my best with what I have but of course it would be awesome to have someone else with a camera to get more moving shots, etc. :)
Great job. I noticed your eyes are get red when your carving. I made a dust box for my bone , glass ,antler carving. You can make one under your table you are using to carve on. Just need a shop vac and vent it outside. I will post my to your Facebook page for a better look at it. You done amazing work and I am learning a lot from you. Thank you.
hey buddy!!!! love your work!!!! and especially the way you clean your skulls by putting them in water, i did not think that it would it work, but guess what......... it dose work, and very well if i my add. my only question is how do you degrease the skulls after you get them cleaned and how do you keep the smell down and whitening them? kind regards Hamza (from west coast of scotland)
Hey Hamza! Thanks for watching over in Scotland! Ok, so if once all the flesh is rotted off keep macerating till the water no longer get cloudy and smelly. This will help to make sure all the organic material is out of the bone. I whiten (if needed, macerating actually produces pretty naturally white/cream skulls) with 3% hydrogen peroxide in the same setup, a bucket and aquarium heater. To de-grease I use the same setup again but with water and dish soap changing the water every 3-4 days. I use maybe 1/3 cup for 2-4 gallons water. If you do all of that there should not be any smell once the skull has dried in the end. Thanks again for watching!
Thank you so much!!!! I will defo follow that set up. one skull is very clean and the water has stopped going cloudy. but just got a new skull yesterday, so i will do the same with that one too. thank again for replaying to me, and i hope all is well with your and family. ps love you videos if i have not already said that. Kind Regards Hamza
I think this idea is so cool and I want to make one for myself and as a 4-H project! I like skulls so naturally this appealed to me. How big should this pig be so that the hole in the back of the head would be big enough for the coins? Keep up the great work and loved it so much I had to subscribe! Thanks!
Hey Pineapple! ;) That's a really cool idea for a 4H project! So really any size will work, you will just have to make the spinal cord opening a lil larger with something like a Dremel or a file, no pig deal at all. Be sure to tag me of send me pics so i can see how it turns out :) and thanks for subscribing!
Hey Willie! I would definitely recommend just dive into actual bone if it's available. Nothing beats working with the actual thing. I always keep one or two skulls around that I just use for trying out new things and practicing with different techniques.
If broke is normal... I want to be weird (Dave Ramsey paraphrase). Keep at it bro - it is hard at times but it changed my families life and gave us principles for managing money that have paid off in the long run (well, it's not that long but a good ways in HA)
I used to want to be a trash guy when I was a kid 😂 my dad always told me that if I did, call it a "Sanitation Engineer" so it sounded all important. 😂😂 did you ever get to present this gift to dave?
Hahaha that's funny. What did you end up becoming? So I actually sent the skull to him and he sent me a letter back thanking me! We will go down and visit him once we build our house :)
Thank you for all the informative videos you have created. I am going to be taking the things I have learned from wood carving and venture over to a few of my wall hanger and see how they come out, thanks to you!!!! Seeing that you have talked about finances on this video how have you turned your art to Cha-Ching. It would be nice to charge $120 an hour but what have you found people are willing to pay per hour? If to personal, I apologize and you can send this message to where the rest of your creatures have gone...lol Thanks in advance. 21st century craftsman
haha that's great! As far as finances, I am slowly raising my rates as I gain more traction. So I started at like $20 per hour and am currently at $40 an hour. Demand is somewhat driving my value right now. But very very talented carvers can get much much more as their skill is much more refined and they can charge much more. I am just keeping at it though! :) Thanks for watching and let me know how thing go! I do actually report all my income on my blog if you are interested :) usskullhunter.com/blog/
