Lisa...you never fail me... all my struggles with zippers and I should have just searched your channel and would've not had all the anxiety I did at Christmas with my pillow cover projects....YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
Thank you Lisa. I. Surprise that you didnt pin or glue the zipper in place so when sewing the zipper didnt move too much. It pill ou w looks great. I found some spring summer fabric and preparing to make some pillows with zipper and light quilting for my living room. Thanks again for this great video.
I usually save all the bits of everything I do hehehee.......pillows are a great way to use the pieces that are just to small to use in other ways. Most of my batting scraps from quilts are the perfect size for mug rugs, and I love that!
This was a great idea to put zippers in. I do tend to struggle with how I do them. I normally over stitch all my spare pieces of batting and use it again on another project. My stuffing , I use pillow contents from inside them. They are safe to use. Many thanks Lisa, I’ll have ago at the way you put zippers in as it looked so EASY .
Lisa this is a fabulous tutorial I don’t know why but I am always nervous around zips. Your demonstration was so clear and easy to follow. This dear little pillow is just adorable just like you. Thank you for sharing your talent and expertise Lisa, you are so clever. I hope you are all well and happy. Sending you all my love as always. God Bless. Big hugs and loves xxxxxxx Dorothy 🌟🙋🏻😘❤️
Me too Dorothy!!! I've tried several different ways of adding zippers.......this method gives me the most pleasing results so far :) All is well here and hugs right back to you sweet ladybug
Turned out so cute. Always like to see your version of how to get things done. Once again glue basting never came to my mine to tame the bulk of that area. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this Lisa. I am going to save it because I have some material that I said I could make pillows out of and now I think I can do it! Thank you
I just love your tutorial videos, I learned alot just watching your channel. I just finished 2 pillow tops and was wandering how can i put in a zipper, then I seen your video you posted today, what a blessing thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. from Canada
I just discovered your videos, and am now a fan! Thank you for taking time to show us and especially to explain each step. I'd never seen the Elmer's Glue tip before...will definitely try that. You make the entire process look so easy. I do a lot of in-the-hoop embroidery and put zippers into small projects, so this is encouraging me to try bigger projects with zippers. Your "scrap" batting is gold to me for small ITH embroidery projects!!
Great tutorial, thank you! I’m adding one to a pillow I’m making for a client. I had extra fabric from their Memory quilt, so I made a hexi patterned throw pillow.
Hint when you are doing your 2” ends after your reverse, set your stitch length to a basting stitch, stitch to your 2” mark- set stitch length back to original length do your forward and reverse and to the end of your fabric. Then when you iron your seams it will be very easy to do. Now you can stitch in your zipper without worrying about the basted part opening and having your top stitching wobbly. Then just trim off your basting stitches.
Thank you so much Pat :) To do the letters I used my embroidery software called Embrilliance. It has a feature called "motif fill" and it does all the work for you......for the most part heheee
I don't understand why you didn't piece around it to make a 14 or 16 inch pillow, and why didn't you put in a longer zipper that would fit end to end? It is a very cute pillow but, not useful.
