i have to make one for my first great granddaughter who was only 4.5 lbs at birth last month; thank you so much for this helpful video..... your a lifesaver Whitney !
You are good WHITNEY to make these tutorials for us. I’ve reviewed many of them and commented on some. My focus is the bear making. You’ve helped me and apparently a lot of others in this regard. Thanks a million.
When I made one like this i left the opening in the back of the bears head. This way I was able to sew the entire outfit closed on my machine. Thank you for all the great tutorials
@@Whitney_Sews no i didnt have any issues. I just took my time making sure everything was filled to where I wantes before i added any filling to the head
I just got a preemie sleeper from a friend to make a bear. It is a very special sleeper and I have been trying to figure out what to do so I don't have to cut it up :) I'm excited to try this.
Thank you for sharing. I have had alot of customers ask about memory bears for baby clothing but just couldnt figure it out. Made alot of bears from adult clothing. Only issue is not understanding how to sew up the feet so i might have to watch few more times and maybe by some onsies at 2nd hand stores to test out.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing 😊 so for this project somehow I just need a pattern for the head. What would happen if you just made little hands and then stuffed it?
I love this video gonna have to try it.But have you ever made a Babynest? There are alot on youtube but can't understand them or no pattern hoping you can help. Thanks
It would be more difficult for sure. I pre stuffed the arms and legs since they aren't separate sections from the body with their own openings to stuff. I think trying to stuff them nicely after the fact would be harder and trying to turn the body right sides out after they are stuffed would be very difficult. But feel free to experiment any way you like. I would love to hear what works/doesn't work for you.
Is there another way to put the eyes and nose through the material? If I cut a little hole will the hole get bigger over time? Thanks 😊 I am really enjoying making this memory bear for my nephew ❤️
All you need is a machine that sews a good straight stitch. My machine is from the 40s and only straight stitches and that's all that's needed for most of the things I sew.
What kind of material should I cut up from articles of clothing :should it be all cotton, fleece, flannel or something else? I have some kindergarten dresses that my mom saved for me. should i cut into them? they are mostly cotton>
Are you wanting to make a bear from them? Cotton or flannel is best and I recommend using interfacing as shown in my regular bear tutorial. Stabilizes the fabric and gives the bear a nicer look.
