In this video I make a Quick release camera plate for my tripod. I had bought the Manfrotto tripod some time ago on a car boot sale for a mere pound. The tripod needed some work and was missing a couple of parts for it to be fully operational. Most issues with the tripod I had simply solved with a couple parts form the spare bolts bin leaving just the missing camera plates to be dealt with. The solution would have appeared simple just search for a couple new ones on the internet and you should be golden. However, the answer was not as simple as that, it never is. First issue I had ran into was the fact that the camera plates for the particular Manfrotto tripod I had where rare due to it being a model from a few years back. Second was that when I did eventually find the few camera plates that where out there, they where absurdly expensive and so the search for an alternative solutions began. It wasn’t long before it became apparent that the best solution would be just to make some camera plates as this would ensure that they are cheap and made to the specification I would need. I could also make them with different mounting points for different applications. Here is the video on how to make one if you should need to make one for yourself.
