17:46 I made a quillow for a woman with Parkinsons, and she asked for two ‘grab-loops’ to be sewn into the corners where you grab to turn the pillow square right side out over the folded quilt . That made it easy for her to turn it. For kids you could use webbing straps folded in half, overlapped at the base of the webbing to look like cat or dog ears, so when it’s turned pillow-side-out, the loops look fun. Thank you for sharing the pattern. It’s really fun for stack-and-whack and fussy cutting too. Because if you make one, you’ll want to make more ☺️🧵🪡

I made one 30 years ago ( although not pieced/quilted) when my daughter was born. Used it initially as a breast feeding support under my arm, then it became her blanket. She still has it and loves it! Keeps it on her sofa for watching TV!

I've made these for every person I know in themed fabrics of their choice. I just used two fabrics, no precuts. Everyone wanted one!!! And for the kiddos I machined embroidered their names on the pillow portion. Always was a guaranteed hit.

We used to make these with 3 fabrics. A print (cotton or flannel) for the front with a coordinating fabric for the pillow and fleece for the back. They were fun to make. I even have a pattern by Boulder Creek Designs from 2003 that fancied them up with buttoned tabs on the sides.

And pretty printed for adults. Super easy to make it was years later when they became popular I got the pattern from a magazine ,,

@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics Год назад
Hi Sharon - You could use jelly roll strips, just keep in mind the measurements. Since they're 2.5" wide, you'd have 4.5" strip if you sewed two of them together. If you sew 3 strips together, you can cut 5" blocks to make the math on it easier. Hope this helps! -Michelle www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/585

Sometimes the quilting will "shrink" the backing and batting. This way, everything is the same when you assemble the quillow. Hope this helps! -Kristen

@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics Год назад
Hi Mary Kay Harman - You should be able to add more squares to increase this project to your desired size. The quilt portion finishes to approximately 40" × 71.5". Depending on how much extra yardage you add to this quilt, you may want to increase the border size of your pillow portion to allow for the added bulk when folded together. Hope this makes sense! -Michelle
