my girlfriend has a similar rain poncho and she mentioned that the wind tends to get under it easy and often billow out and be blown up over her head.

@@WyrdHag I'm not a native speaker, but I refer to that lower trim on the poncho (the one that blews up) you could put some decorative stone pieces on it (or maybe really small sand baggys) so its heavier in the bottom end.

Maybe use clips rather than pins so as to avoid putting holes in waterproof fabric?

Is rip stop nylon waterproof? I thought it would need a coating. And maybe the hems will leak.

It looks like the hood needs to be bigger to cover head beyond face, is there a way to modify the hood to make it visor-like?

Did you the fabric you cut off the bottom of the poncho to make the hood? Because it looks like a new yard of fabric.

The hood is cut from another piece of fabric. You'll need about 3 yards total for this poncho.
