To the contrary, Chef, you do not talk too much. A good teacher explains things; a brilliant teacher explains it thoroughly as well as makes it enjoyable. You do all that in the most natural, friendly and humorous way possible. Brilliant!
The amount of "ums" and "uhs" proves that this isn't scripted and all of this monologue is just coming from the heart on-the-spot. You workin' with a recipe and your soul and that's awesome. It's super inspiring to see you not letting other people tell you otherwise
No you do NOT talk too much. That's half the fun of these videos, along with great instruction, recipes, & total enjoyment. Don't change a thing. You are perfect just the way you are. :)
Please don’t stop talking, it is very enjoyable listening how you explain on your own unique way , we love your way of teaching us how to cook your delicious dishes
It doesn't bother me. I can tell he's excited to share a traditional dish and he loves cooking. All that in his personality keep the video interesting and worth watching.
Jean-Pierre wears his heart on his sleeve such an honest soul just here to help people learn to be a better cook ,Hell of a person your a legend Jean-Pierre
Chef Jean-Pierre was one of the best things that came out on RU-vid. A few months ago I was so down, with no taste for life, until I found this channel and discovered my passion for cooking. Thanks, Chef, for making our lives better. God bless you.
EVERY ONE HAS TO OFFER AND IT IS UP TO YOU TO SPARK THAT PASSION FOR COOKING. I BELIEVE I HAVE PASSION FOR COOKING AND THAT IS WHY I WATCH HIS CHANNEL AND HE IS THE MASTER CHEF AND HE IS BEEN COOKING FOR 50 YEARS. ANYWAY, I LEARN SOMETHING EVERY TIME I WATCH HIS CHANNEL.
Chef, don’t listen to these people saying you talk too much. You are a fantastic teacher, mentor and you keep your videos educational and FUN! Please don’t change a thing! I learn something new every time I watch your videos! Thank you for everything!!
LOL we are not complaining because he talks too much....but he does and we love it....can you imagine him at a party....he would be the hit of any party.....wonder if he talks that much at home? Wonder if his wife ever gets in a word LOL.....he is so cute when he cooks and talks a mile a minute and says something about how someone else cooks and then he kinda apologizes and says that's ok, you do it like you like to do it, I'll do it my way.....he is still the best Chef I know.....can you imagine him & Martha Stewart in the same kitchen.....? Would be a sight to see.....
you are the only chef I watch now because when you talk you explain what you are doing and why, it's so informative and humorous, how people can say you talk too much is a mystery🤣🤣🤣 I feel your passion for food, I love food and cooking and you've made my passion even stronger! I'm learning so much and even the fundamentals have improved the taste of my dishes ten fold, thank you so much Chef Jean-Pierre, I hope this channel grows as much as my waistline since I've tuned in 🤣🤣🤣
You can talk allllll day as far as I’m concerned. You have a great deal of knowledge to impart, a dynamic personality and an awesome sense of humor. Listening to and watching you is an adventure in itself. :)
Yes, FANTASTIC! And, you've vindicated me, dear Chef Jean Pierre! I'm a lifelong fan of Ratatouille, having lived and traveled much in Europe as a child. My mother taught me to sauté each vegetable ingredient (except the tomatoes, of course) separately, to caramelize!!! (I would add individual herbs de Provence to the individual sauteeing veg. This was to layer the herb flavors!) It is so beyond delicious, this fabulous vegetable stew. Makes Lent and Advent fast periods A Treat! Now, my most grateful thanks to you for showing and teaching us how to "glamorize" the plating! Last but NOT least. Please, most humbly I ask you, never say about you talking to much. I know I speak for all of us. WE NEED YOU TO TALK. About the instructions & teachings related to the food being prepared. About the incredible cultural contexts which enrich our understanding, our souls and make joy for us when we learn about you and your life and adventures. I could see you in the airport with your black bag full of 10 kilos of herbes and the sniffing dogs heading your way. I started laughing. Then your punch line: dogs turned away from you to go elsewhere. Of course, Heaven was with you. Plus, of course, all the great plastic lining in your special black bag? I'm still giggling as I write this! You're an extraordinary man. Brilliant Chef, an inspired and effective teacher AND a natural entertainer! You teach us cooking. You teach us values (People do things differently. It's OK to have our individual ways, etc, etc). Thank you for the opportunity to say "Thank You," be grateful AND be specific. I hope to meet you in person one day so I may kiss your hand, in 'homage.' From Sacramento. France Driscoll Stay Free. Remember Eternity. ¡Viva Cristo Rey!
Honestly, the people who say you talk too much can beat it if you ask me. Clearly shows your passion for not only the art of cooking but for teaching as well. Those who don't want to hear the lovely explanations have the option to mute. Please never change who you are. Also, keep up the great videos, you really are an inspiration.
Chef Jean Pierre, the banter is a huge part of your personality. it enhances the presentation, and your sense of humour is brilliant. Please do not change your down to earth style.
Seeing this channel is therapy for me. Beautiful recipes, with a very entertaining Chef .... I'm telling you: this is pure therapy for me. In short: I love this Channel !!
I know it’s therapy for me too! PBS was like this for me when they had all the Chefs that did step by step cooking like Julia Child and Jacques Pepin, but it’s not the same anymore. I miss the good old days for tv.
Chef Jean-Pierre of course we will always support your quality and entertaining educational content ! tik tac tok is just for the generation X and millennials, and we old schoolers at least have RU-vid! 🙏
Chef, you certainly not talking too much, infact you're teaching cooking with your soul and it's really amazing with your passion and dedication. Love to follow every single of your channel, can't have enough of it. Thanks❤
Hello Chef, my Mom and I love your recipes and Show. My Mom loves when you talk. She said ‘Teachers do not get up in front of the class and keep silent. They speak. Your way of teaching is so exact and enjoyable .’ Thank you.
Chef, I really love the way you talk 😊 I laugh the whole time while I watch your class. Love you so much!! Please, talk as much as you like as someone like me love to watch you talk. You are so funny it makes my day happy n smile all day❤❤
I've watched thousands of cooking videos.... it is the commentary that makes it special; and you are the only friend I have. Great videos "always, always, always."
As I read through the comments about your videos and presentations the key thing I get from them (the comments) is the fact that you 'inspire' many people including myself. That is something I admire you for. Keep up the good work chef!
You inspired me, so I made this today, and sautéed it in batches as you recommended. After sautéing the onions and peppers, I added the garlic until fragrant, and then added 1-1/2 cup of white wine and let it reduce before adding the tomatoes. Mama Mia…it was soooo delicious! Thank you for your awesome instructions and great recipe!🍅🍆🫑
Chef, if you didn’t do any talking, I wouldn’t do any watching. Lot’s of other channels show you how to cook, but you “teach” us how to cook and you do it with perfection, humility, and humor. It’s always so enjoyable watching and learning from you! Thanks for another terrific recipe.
You not only teach me how to cook, you teach me how to live a full life. You make no apology for your own personality when others say you talked too much. You did your best to teach others how to cook and yet there are people who nitpick and you tell them to watch another channel. You did it with a smile. I know friends who try to please everyone and ended up with a miserable life.
This recipe is amazing because I have done it three times. Each time my husband and my neighbors think it looks so professional. You make me an amazing cook. Thanks.
You talk just the right amount, don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise! You're my new favorite chef, I can't get enough of your channel! I appreciate everything you do, thanks for being so awesome
I Love 💕 your happy chatter my Friend! Watching you is not just a culinary education but entertainment as well. I love the way you make me laugh 😆 while showing us excellent technique.
Don’t stop talking Chef, that’s the beauty of your channel. You explain things with such helpful detail it makes it easy (easier!) to create these beautiful recipes of yours. I’ve been to France a few times but never to Provence, hopefully I will get there one day! Merci!
You don't talk too much, chef JP. Out of all the chefs on You-Tube, you're the best and easiest to follow because your commentary simplifies everything so that even a novice cook can follow. Also, its easy to learn from you because your friendly commentary, stories and demeanour humanize yourself to the point its not like were speaking to some sort of expert chef whos skill we will never be able to match, but more like a kind uncle who loves teaching and spending time with you. PS. Also I'm sure some of the viewers find French accents sexy, so that's another reason to speak to show off that magnificent voice.
I follow a few cooking channels, but this is the only one that makes me want to get up, set up a mise en place and start cooking. Even if I don't have the same ingredients or kitchen tools, I know it's going to be an amazing meal because I'm cooking the right way by following chef's instructions.
Oh, I'm happy. Ratatouille was the first french dish I've ever made and now I know it was the right way lol. Thanks, chef! Also, you don't talk too much, you just have a lot to teach.
Alas, I am allergic to eggplant. I love it, but it gives me hives. I still make ratatouille, but it just isn't the same without the star ingredient. Hmm, maybe allergy desensitization for food allergies is a thing? At least I can still eat mushrooms!
I don't think you talk to much. It is part of your charm. I just had a major heart attack a month ago. My husband is doing the cooking until I recover. He loves your channel and watches faithfully, as well as your prior recipes. Thank you so much Chef!
To those who say you talk to much, block them! You don’t need that negative energy! Don’t worry! They’ll do fine on Tic-tac-toc! You never fail to make my day, Chef! ❤️❤️
Chef, you are fabulous. I love your videos and all the patter. I learn so much from you. Your passion inspires me, and pushes me to excel in my kitchen, my presentation, and in general with food. You are my mentor. When I am asked who trained me, your name is given.
Your talking is the best part of your videos. I can't imagine why anyone would say you "talk to much". We can't taste your food. And if I just wanted instructions I would read a recipe card. You talking describes everything and also makes us feel like we are there in your kitchen. It's an absolute delight. So you just keep talking Chef. I'll enjoy every word.
Never heard of the dish you where making but stayed for the whole video as you are the best oratory doing a cooking show. Keep All the best and keep up the good videos.
I'm very sensitive when it comes to voices and certain sounds, but your voice is comfortable to listen to Chef :) i love learning about food on your channel :) Freddie Mercury loved some French foods and drinks :)
Loved when you said "its their opinion, we gotta respect them, even if its not a great idea or not" .. So true and if only more people understood that simple thing.
Chef JP could make a 3 hour video every week and I would watch every single second of it! He deserves at least 1 million subscribers! He deserves it ASAP! I'll be so thrilled when I see he reaches 1 million subscribers!
I love this channel! I went to a local cooking school for two years and they did not teach me half the techniques in these videos, even for basic stuff Luke omelettes. Your love of cooking, expertise and willingness to share it with us is astounding! I also love your smile, heart, and the God bless America sign in your kitchen. I also love how you reassure us while learning that is doesn't need to be perfect. God bless you Chef 👨🍳 💙
Back at you! All the pleasure is mine! Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience! And God Bless our great country and the rest of the world especially right now!!! 😀💗
Chef, I love you're attitude and video style. It's very refreshing and a nice change from the other *quack* channels out there. Keep doing what you're doing! We love it!
I’ve watched just about every one of your videos and the highlight of my week is looking forward to watching a new one every Friday morning. Please never stop talking, I learn so much from you! My husband gets excited when I cook your recipes. You’re the greatest Chef on RU-vid and have my full support and respect hands down 🙏🏽
Oh Chef you are bringing back some wonderful memories!!! In culinary school many moons ago I did a real Ratatouille for a 1st course in one of my tests. I did mine is a 4 in round mold layered. I did have a Eggplant layer but it was on the bottom. Served it with Basil Olive oil and a Red Pepper Coulis topped chiffonade of Basil on a large White plate. The Chefs really enjoyed it, and I think it caught a bit off guard as I don't think they were expecting it. All the others were doing very high techie dishes but I wanted to do a classic type of meal. What I loved about cooking professionally is your ability of making and bringing back memories in people. Food is one of those things we have in our life that cement time, family, love, and happiness all together into a memory. We all have a good memory of family, friends and a kitchen all tied together by food and as a Chef we can spark those feeling of happiness and joy. There are very few professions that can do that and I thank you for sparking an wonderful feeling of joy and accomplishment. I say accomplishment because I can still see the expression's of the 3 Chef as the tasted my Ratatouille. Sorry I got long winded,,,,, Talking to much must be a Chef thing!!! Thanks again!!
That's a great story, not long winded at all. I consider myself a home cook and I take great pride in the dishes I make because I agree that it cements wonderful family and friend memories. Gotta admit I've made a few duds and I'm usually mortified by that......but I bonce back and cook on!
@@daphnepearce9411 Thanks,,, we all make duds,,,, and I had a few in culinary,,, believe me!! And boy I could tell you some stories from the line, I brake out in hives just thinking of some of them, but it was all worth it!! Thanks again for your kind words.
Every time I watch you cook, dear Chef Jean-Pierre, I cry with happiness and also a little envy. Your dish is seemingly so simple, but also looks so beautiful and so delicious, that I will have to try to make it in my kitchen. Thank you!
I've been a cook in the industry for over 20 years. I lost my passion. You remind me of the chef that for me into cooking with your passion, humor and humility. Thank you chef in finding my love again.
You are an amazing teacher, I love how much you talk, never change that! I will never watch tick tack tock as long as you post your wonderful shows! Thanks you chef, you are entertaining, insightful, and refreshing. I now know how to cook because of your help. I am forever in your debt!
Love everything you have to say about the dish with the history and even your opinions. Simplified recipes everyone and anyone can cook. Thanks for making cooking fun and simple!
I can't believe that someone would say you talk to much. I love how you truly are. You are being yourself and that's why I love your video's!! Please keep you the way you are. 👍👍😊💕
The only way I can deal with the fact that there are dislikes on this video is by believing they were left by professional chefs who were dirty about Chef calling this a REAL Ratatouille. Keep up the good work Chef. Never had Ratatouille before but this makes me want to try it.
Love this guy. He's like everyone's favorite uncle. His enthusiasm is contagious. Today I made Chef Pierres fish cakes and they were a huge hit!. This video is so fitting. His enthusiasm and love for cooking reminds me of chef Gusteau from the movie. "Anyone can cook". One of my favorite movies, watched it prolly a dozen times. Thanks Chef Pierre for another great video.
I remember watching ratatouille with my grandmother who at the time owned a bar and restaurant. I asked if we could make it and the next thing I know, we’re at the restaurant depot shopping for ingredients. We made it and it was amazing. We made plenty extra and it was a special for a week. Everyone loved it and that’s what sparked my love for cooking.
Finally, someone said it out loud: technically ratatouille (and/or tian) is a stew. Every once in a while we all have tasted a more flowy stew and discovered it tastes the same and has (basically) the same ingredients. I would never order a spoonful of vegan stew in a restaurant, I don't care how perfectly it is layered.
Chef Jean-Pierre, You do not talk too much. I would be willing to bet that I’m not the only subscriber that quite enjoys your banter. As a matter of fact, you could do longer videos (25-30 minutes) with even MORE talking, storytelling, etc. and I bet you would be surprised how much positive feedback you would receive. Keep doing what you’re doing, Chef. That’s why we love you.
Au contraire, dear Chef! I love to watch you and LISTEN TO YOU as you explain thoroughly each step you take with each recipe! Your good nature and your humor shine as you teach us your culinary secrets!! Anyone who thinks you talk to much can go just go...wherever. Keep doing just what you do!! You are amazing! God bless! 🙏✝
Love listening to you! Don't listen to those who say you talk too much. This recipes looks AMAZING. Can't wait to give it a try. As always, thank you Chef!!!
I've been watching the channel recently since it seemed to have been brought back. I watched the oignons mince video back in the days. I really appreciate how it's "we need subscribers". Very honest, the way it should be. Thank you for the videos.
I love watching and listening to you.Its so much fun and informative. Just watching you cook would be boring. Your personality makes this program AWESOME. I also love your products thank you so much for making them available.
I think I've watched most of your videos and have learned a lot. I've always been a pretty good home cook (not a chef) and I have tried most of your recipes. Your instruction is right on. If you follow, you can't lose. I have ingredients in my pantry that I never had before and experienced flavors I've never tasted. I'm waiting for you to to hit the 1,000,000 subscriber mark (shouldn't take much longer).
Years ago, I fell in love with Ratatouille, and now I make it in the oven mostly with homegrown veggies. I have never seen it presented like this... and I cannot wait to try it the traditional way. 😋😍 You really need to grow your own tomatoes... very easy and the taste is incomparable. You'll never go back to grocery store tomatoes, guaranteed!
