That’s right, no more “DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!” This is Phase three, of a multipart series, where I will take you through the process step-by-step. (If you have been looking) I was looking a day or 2 after your comment and never seen them below 89.99 for broken / stuck / parts. Most places I look for parts are actually higher too - $120 -- $180, sadly. Thanks again for the awesome build videos.

I'm still saing that the Blackberry hack was an inside job. If i'm ever getting to build a Pip-Boy, i'm going with an Raspberry Pi to use it as a real computer. Maybe then i get some DIY home automation to controll with it. What about the idea to put the Pip-Boy on the shelf and have it playing a longplay without commentary. Like the attract mode in a pinball cabinet.

Ah, You got me again! After watching the new Pip-Boy mods Phases 1,2 and 3. I have been acquiring some of the items you mentioned. Soon I will be giving the geiger counter idea a try with hopefully a moving needle and the programmed speaker. Going to try to add some operational buttons and maybe some lights. This time I will even try to do some soldering with a small radio module kit. I'll be doing the work, but all of the ideas and cool add on items are from Your Geek Fix and the online sites/dealers used on the show. I did have two questions. 1) Do you know if the P-B 2000 Mk VI had an extendable interface cable like those in game and on the TV show? 2) P-B Light? On the TV show model it appears to be toward the top on the wrist side. Thank you again!

So, 76 was pre 3000 model. The 3000 has a key for the vault door. In 76, you don't seem to use one. So, to my knowledge it doesn't have one. A lot like the first hand held 2000.

got me wayback with fallout 4 for 150 bucks the green army painted pip boy and for 90 dollars an old smart phone what fitted in very well. i believe with fallout 76 there was another pip boy model coming out as a radio , same price. got me the T52B Helmet instead since my budget is usually quite small.

Where did you happen to get the replacement screens? I have a passport with a cracked one but I can’t find any for under 40 bucks online from most retailers, and they usually don’t have the longer ribbon

It's a long time after the video was uploaded, but I have to ask do you have the Pip-Droid app shown off in the Video? The Fallout 3/NV inspired ui would be perfect for my Own Pip-Boy I'm building and I can't seem to find the apk anywhere floating around. I also don't see it in the Description

I really was hoping you’d use a raspberry pi and kind of make it like the Bethesda Pip boy 3000 mk iv, where you actually utilize the buttons and knob. Understandable that it’s difficult, just an idea

I did use the buttons and knob. Did you see video 3. Also, raspberry pi would not be as powerful and able to do the things I wanted it to do. We do have the 3000 with raspberry pi we made with spirit halloween version. Raspberry pi workgroup also made one open source.

I am currently waiting to receive another unmodified Pip-Boy. If and when that happens. I will try to put together a diy walkthrough for the mod using an intact BlackBerry passport.

Is there an “official” measurement for the interior dimensions of the wand company pip boy screen? I’ve been looking at a 4 inch by 4 inch LCD but it seems like it may be a tad small

There is. It is tricky. Do you have the kit. The tricky part is I learned there is a minor difference between the newer special edition models and the original.

I think I asked before, but will it have working dials, and all that like would it affect the screen or would they but unusable/ do nothing still. I am still writing this before the vid is done so ill delete this if its mentioned.

I have a mod that does that you may have seen in my other video, but you have to use the Geiger counter for it.
