Thanks so much for all the great info! I’ve started a recipe binder, and been looking for ideas! You gave me a couple that I hadn’t heard. I’ve been starting with my printouts, but my actual recipe box had 4x6 cards I need to add in, so looking for some protective sheets for those to add in. Do not want to re write those for everything to be pretty, but I will have to scan some. I appreciate you!! thanks again… Guess I better get my vacuuming done so I can go back to my binder project, here in Minnesota, thought it was a way to keep me busy for awhile, cuz I’m not an outside kinda gal😜
Thanks so much! I know what you mean about the 4x6 cards. My grandma always used those. So glad you're excited about the binder. It's time for me to update mine! LOL
I just did an instant pot binder for my daughter. She is a new mommy and was gifted an instant pot by one of her sisters. I went and spent day with her and showed her how to work it.
One option you could do if you have a whole lot of recipes that you really don't want to get rid of is make a binder for each section, so to speak. So, like for me, I separate my labels by protein. You could just have a binder for each category maybe. :)
I did a cookie recipe book similar to this one as a gift for my sisters for Christmas but I really like this idea of doing one for Healthy Food Recipes. Love the idea of the Meal Plan in front of book too!
Thanks Chrissy!! I am working on some different books to put together to possibly sell in my future online store 😉 I really need to work on doing more point/calorie friendly desserts too! Love the cookie recipe book idea too!
Thank you! This has been most helpful. I knew what I wanted, I knew what the finished product should look like but how was my issue. I have everything you have, dividers, page protectors etc. But to actually make it look like something I was happy with was a whole other story.
Thank you for the great tips - you do a great job on your videos. Love the idea of organizing by Proteins, etc. I think rather than pulling out the recipes for the week, I might just use sticky notes to mark where they are in the binder.
Love the idea of a recipe binder! Sure beats my stacks of recipes that I print and then wind up throwing away because they are just in piles. I think I would add a sheet of paper in a page protector for each category (a collage of favorite chicken recipe images, etc) and then add a label to that so that the label would sick out past the recipe pages. Just a thought. I would also get a pack of star stickers to add a star system to remind me how well I liked the dish.
YES!!! You could definitely do your own thing and make it to your liking. That's the best thing about making your own - you can make it as basic as you want or really put some of your own personality into it. I used to be just like you were! I had my printed recipes all over the place - junk drawers had a few recipes in each one too...LOL - then I'd just end up throwing them away and reprinting!
Hey can u make sure you add ALL your recipes on your site ..... I don’t see all of yours there but I do see the free printable sheets for recipes and planning
Hey there! Yes, all my recipes are there, as far as I know. I am unable to add more pages at this time, but if you know of any that are missing, let me know and I will try to make a PDF. If the recipe is one I got from another website, I won't put that on mine, but will refer you to the recipe creator.
I have one binder with recipes that are favorites and make often. And another one with recipes that I want to try or have tried but need some tweaking. ☺️
I should make a binder instead of a folder for those ones I haven't tried yet. I do have an old binder that has old recipes in it - mostly ones that I just made way too much and got tired of or just ones that were too high in points - I sometimes "recycle" my recipes. LOL
I have an HP OfficeJet 4650 and I use a service through HP Instant Ink, which I absolutely love. I put info in the description box just now. You gave me a great idea for a follow-up video! I have been using that service for years. I basically pay a monthly fee for the amount of pages I want and they automatically send me the ink whenever they know my printer is getting low. It's great!!
@@PlanningUsHealthy thank you so much for the info I have a HP printer 2600series which I hate. Ink is 40.00 for HP 65XL and the ink does not last long, cannot get it to print page border at bottom of page and now it is not printing envelopes. What does service cost monthly for the ink? I wish we could get a new printer.
@@sharonrodgers1722 There are different plans, I believe. The one I get is $4.99 per month and that covers 100 pages. But it allows rollovers so if I don't use all 100, I can roll them over the next month. I think there is a $3.99 plan too but I can't remember how many pages that covers.
Quite a few! LOL I have many that I don't keep in my main binder. I have another binder that has old recipes that I don't make as often. I usually go through phases where I have certain recipes that are in my regular rotation. I guess you could say I "recycle" a lot of recipes. :)
Most of the recipes have the points listed on them (the ones from my site planningushealthy.com all have the points listed on the printable recipe. If there are any recipes I print that don't give the points or calories, I just figure it in my app and just write it on the recipe.
www.planningushealthy.com - also, I saw another message from you previously but then when I clicked, it wasn't there and now I can't find it. RU-vid might have blocked it for some reason.
I used to do that but I drove myself crazy trying to keep it all in alphabetical order. I can't stand to hunt, everything has to be in a certain order.
Yeah, I don't keep mine in alphabetical order anymore - it was too much to keep up with. But by keeping them in dividers, I can easily just skim through and locate the recipes pretty easy - quicker than if I had to keep looking them up online each time. LOL
@@PlanningUsHealthy I'm just too OCD. I couldn't keep it in my order so I just quit doing it. I'm pretty much a cook as I go kinda girl anyway and I never actually follow a recipe so I guess it works.
