Very artistic. Made it look simple. Good flow to tutorial. Would like to see it finished against a white surface to get the full effect. Would be gorgeous with some fairy lights around. Will look for more content.
maybe a little more of wave action at the bottom 🤔 at least for my taste ❤ I was gifted a lighthouse sooo beautiful and it intrigued me how it was made and it’s amazing what you do! i love the beach ones ❤
I just made this for an anniversary gift for my friends. Well, it’s similar lol. I was surprised though that the resin hardened VERY QUICKLY once the inks were mixed and it was poured. The resin was really thick too which surprised me. I wish I could post a pic on here.
Beautiful! Love your work! Feel this can be my new hobby! Would like to know a little more about the mixture of the resin, and the blowers you used. Thank you so much! You rock!!
Tricia Fitzpatrick oh wow I’ve never seen resin darken sand that much, where was the sand from?! Was it a fairly dark sand to start with? Resin should’ve really only made it look wet, not altered the color that much
@@abstractboss Hi, thank you so much for your response. I live right on the beach on a little Island called the Isle of Man. It's situated between England and Ireland in the Irish Sea. I'm a newbie but collected all the sea glass before our weather changed...snow today. The sand was yellow but not dark and after mixing with the resin and spreading on the glass it was the darkest brown, even after two days of drying. However, I mixed some more with Evostik glue and it turned out great. Purchasing supplies is very difficult on the Island so I send to Amazon UK but they're not allowed to send me alcohol based inks due to air travel. I'm loving your videos and happily my beach scene turned out great.
First time seeing you. This is a beautiful piece. I just purchased something similar at a shop in New Smyrna Beach, FL. So much work and worth every penny the price the artist sets.
Omg gf i have always been in love with the beach i done a few but didn't have anything to add to it now i do and im super excited i can't wait to get started i don't have the white paste you used but I went got some white castin craft i seen a few other artist that said it was good for waves so I hope so
ohhhh hopefully it is good! there are other white pastes you can get too. colorberry has a US distributor, Stonecoat has a good white and then Just resin has good white pigments
This is beautiful. I’m going to try this project. If you do more videos my suggestion would be to use a white background so everyone could see the beautiful colors you used and make it really pop but not a big deal if you choose not to. It really is nice.😊
This is so amazing and so beautiful! Whomever received this is a very lucky soul💙 My boyfriend and I are serious beach glass collectors... Like 3 to 7 times a week during the nicer weather. We spend sunrise to sunset when we can and depending on where we go the minimum drive is 30 min. We have driven hours to other states as well for to beach glass🤷🏼♀️. We just love finding glass and fossils. We pack the cooler the night b4 and disappear. I just showed him ur video and said Babe.. we can create things like this and sell them and save everything and sell everything and get a house or more likely a shack on the beach and never have to leave💙💙💙 TRULY GORGEOUS!
@@abstractboss I'll be streaming your videos tonight on the tv when we go to bed. Maybe it will create some burning ideas in our brain while we sleep😍🤣🤣
I moved to the beach about 9 months ago and have been looking for projects to use my shell finds for decor pieces. You make it look so easy which I’m sure it’s not. I’m going to try your methods? Wish me luck!
Help! I don't understand what you used for the white waves. Did you say it was a paste? You are a fabulous instructor and this was the best explanation I have seen so far~ Thanks!
Debra Manter it was the colorberry white paint. I’m actually not sure of what the base is because it doesn’t have anything written on it. Just resin also has the same type of paints so either place you can order from. Thank you so much for the compliment! I try and teach as best as I can hahaha
Thank you for the video! I really love this art. I love the beach and leaving far away from it, whatever bringing memories from this place, makes me happy! I have a question: to ship this to a different state, how long I should leave it curing or drying. This will be my first project!! I’m very exited!
YILA MARIA GIRALDO PARDO yayyy how exciting! Ok so depends on the resin you’re using but it can imprint with bubble wrap so I recommend getting acid free paper to wrap it in gently, then bubble wrap. If it’s a hard resin like faux rizzle like I use then I ship in a few days. If it’s a softer resin like art resin, leggari, Ks, etc then it will take a couple weeks before I would be ok shipping
This is gorgeous. I’ve always wanted to try and make one but have always been a little intimidated. I live on the Albemarle Sound and pick up glass off the beach. I have a lot of it and would love to use it to make one of these. Can you offer some tips on what type of resin I should buy and do you have a supply list for making this particular frame ? Thank you so much for sharing this. I absolutely love it.
I just found you and I’m so happy. I am getting ready to attempt my first resin pour as a beginner. Where did you purchase your orange looking coral at the bottom of your work? I love the accent on the beach!
Never use resin without safety equipment! You definitely need a respirator and safety goggles as well, there are already several videos on here where people warn about this and tell about their enormous health problems, having done this for a hobby just like you.
Beautiful! found you on a search about making art like this because I want to make something similar with shells I've collected, but never worked with resin before. Thanks for the tips! question - what is the purpose of using the blow torch? TIA!
Hi. Making a four pane beach scene as I watch you on utube. Can u please tell me exactly what I buy for ocean colors and waves, water. Not sure the name, brand. Thank u
Debbie Butler search resin calculator on google and you will find a way to calculate. You can not save after mixed so I always have molds or coasters beside my art piece that I will use my extra resin on/in
James Wong great question! If you want bubbles then it isn’t necessary lol. Blow torch gets rid of the bubbles. You can also use isopropyl alcohol (91% or higher) and put it in a spray bottle and that will pop bubbles BUT it could cause extra cells or movement in the piece that you don’t want.
What type of resin is it and where to find it, what is used to color the resin and where to buy it. I've never done a resin project and want to try it but don't know what products to use
Jeniffer Beam hi Jennifer. I recommend faux Rizzle Neovaeu which you can get at artresinfauxrizzle.com along with all the pigments :) use my code BOSS and it'll save you 15% I also recommend alcohol inks to dye it and that you can get from my Amazon link 😘
This is so lovely. This is what my daughter wants me to make her.. I've never worked with resin and I'm so nervous. Also, I read something that it will yellow after a couple of years if you hang it in or near sunlight. Have you noticed that?
YES but I do think there are some resins out there that prevent a lot of yellowing. Art resin is one of the best for that. Stonecoat countertop art coat is a very close second. I recently came across puduo and liquid diamonds that both seem to be strong contenders in the non yellowing for a while arena
@@abstractboss thank you so much. I've never worked with resin I purchased two different brands a few months ago. I also purchased coloring. Do you have a suggestion for me a brand new beginner, something I can make to get my feet wet. I don't plan on making jewelry. So I don't have any molds. I would definitely love to step by step tutorial just because I don't even know how much resin to mix. Do you have a video like that? Or anybody else that you know of? If not would you be interested in making one? 😂 no pressure here. ☺️ I'm home alone stuck with covid-19 hoping to get better soon so that I feel well enough to actually do something. I hope you're well ❤️
rita pita I have a whole playlist of how to videos. I’d say the easiest thing to do would be alcohol ink coasters with a top coat of resin. Or if you have any small canvas art that you don’t mind ruining to practice on then you can brace the back (also in my how to playlist) so that way the resin doesn’t sag in the middle. If you bought the resin and it’s been sitting, it might start to yellow already. If that’s the case then don’t use light colors because your art piece you pour on is guaranteed to yellow faster. If it’s clear in the bottles then you have a good chance your piece will last a while before yellowing depending on the brand
@@abstractboss thank you so much for your help. You have given me so much information. I didn't know that you really can't have resin sitting around too long in the bottle unused. I just ordered mine January / February. Anyhow, I am about to check out to playlist. Thank you so much for all your help. You're really kind for taking the time. ️ ❤️ oh, I just happened to be looking at a video using a UV light to dry the resin. I've got a UV light that I use for my gel fingernail polish. It was pretty interesting.
rita pita the uv resin is pretty cool, it has to be done in a clear mold though and the uv lamps needs to be pretty strong. I wasted a lot practicing with that one haha. And it’s no biggie! I love to help. Let me know if any other questions pop up
Dear Abstract Boss - this is my favorite tutorial by far on this type of project. I am a newbie to resin work and gave it my 4th try tonight. I just can’t get the waves. I am using Castin’Craft Opaque Pigment Concentrate and adding more drops than I can count of Resi-Blast. Less than satisfactory results. Pretty much giving up. If I don’t add enough pigment it’s transparent but either way it seems to sink to the bottom of the resin already on the glass. Can you help?
Hey Jane! I haven’t tried that pigment yet. I know I have gotten results with armor art from counter culture diy, and the white liquid pigment from just resin. I am ordering another white to try soon too. I also wouldn’t add any resiblast on this type of project after the fact because it will push way too much. I’d say the best is when it has the ability to flow over but within these frames that’s hard. So the best thing to do is so small lines and work it slowly with a heat gun and then spray with alcohol (91%) which also helps with bringing a couple cells. Hope that helps! ♥️
in this one it is just the resin and then white pigment that I got from color berry. Just resin has a similar white, and counter culture diy has armor art which is a great white :D the ranger inks were aqua, mermaid, and stream.
I'm going to try to make the Christmas tree (glass 'pebbles' on the glass). I plan to 'seal' the frame (as you did here) and then 'flood' the glass and place the pebbles/'garland', etc. where I want it, then let it dry. Next 'drizzle' more epoxy/resin over the pebbles to really set them. Is this a good idea? Will it work? Thanks!
I reread that twice to make sure I understood lol and I do believe that will work. If you are uncertain or want to make sure nothing moves with that first layer then glue it lightly and let dry before you epoxy :)
