As a kid of the 80's (born in the mid 70's) it's great seeing younger people's takes on the era and how they interpret the sounds and songs. It really gives it a breath of fresh air.
It's so cool to me that people from that generation are discovering my video! If you liked this one, be sure to check out the new 80s style song I just dropped in my latest video to let me know what you think!

Just a dropped a new synthwave tut if any of you guys are interested. I went for a more chillwave Resonance -Home styled chord progression and vibe on it. Check it out and lmk how i did! feel free to tell me it sucks if it sucks ha
Sup man, I just posted a new synthwave/chillwave tutorial with a lot less resonance by home and ear rape lol. I would really appreciate your feedback on the editing and what i can do better for my synthwave tutorials in the future!
AddX and suspended chords are crazy? And don’t sound well on other instruments? I guess you’re not a musician of acoustic instruments. It sounds awesome on pianos, guitars and when properly arranged, amazing on live string sections too. On piano’s it’s very normal to embellish chords with a lot of extra notes.
Definitely your 100% correct. I was talking more in terms of modern day popular music like trap/rap/pop which I came up on. I don't have a musically trained background and this was one of my first ever synthwave style tracks. I just uploaded a new video in the genre and would love for you to stop by and explain some of the theory as to why my chord progression works the way it does. For example, in one of my chords, I use a note out of the scale. I think it works because of it being a chromatic transition but if you stopped by to explain it, i would find it fascinating and really appreciate it
02:04 - For real though, for us headphone users, these interludes you add are annoying as fuck and take away the quality of the tutorial, I mean, I am fine with the music itself, but the exaggerated distortion just trashes the experience for me specially because you used it too much.
It's the video nobody asked for but that everybody who owns an LED light strip will approve of. Final beat is at 9:51 Let's get groovy. Also, please join my Discord server if your interested in boosting your likes and comments; link is in the description above!
Bro I actually feel like the 80s was a super cool time to be alive. But you nailed the sound for sure, that arp was a perfect addition. I very much liked this video my man, nice work.
This video been blowing up a lot recently and I just want to announce that I will start doing more tutorials on 80s synth related music (synthwave, chillwave, etc.) since there is clear interest you guys want them. Next video in regards to this genre should be coming around May 23rd and if that does well, I'll just keep that style coming and maybe even drop my stash of hidden synth songs I've made
Great tutorial! Clear and concise, and the cutaways keep it engaging P.S. - We had access to affordable digital delays in the 80s. Tape delay was more of a 40s-70s thing
Super helpful and entertaining without distracting from the education. 11 minutes is all that was needed. Thank you. And tight groove btw or "rad" as they'd say in the 80's. You're a legend in the making.
Lmaoooo too sharp! Btw, be sure to peep my discord server in the description above if you wanna get more engagement on your videos. Im tryna help the community!
