Margarete, I really really enjoyed watching you put this junk journal together. I really really love 💕 how you’ve done this. Without a pamphlet stitch in sight!!!!!!! I’m looking forward to seeing how you progress with it too. Thank you so much xxx Mags
Thank you again for sharing your process with us. I usually use an altered book for a glue book but I really like the staple idea. I have a long arm stapler but I didn't think that it would go through that many pages plus cardboard. Love it.
Love your completed book and thanks for showing your process of creating the new one. Can't wait to see it progress! And what a time saver to use staples instead of sewing! Do you find that those hold up as well as the sewn ones?
so i did staple my first glue book, too! but i found it not so good holding together, because of stapling on the "wrong" side - if that makes sense... Next time I will try to staple it from the outside of the book. maybe it holds the journals better together... what are you doing on the spine? collaging to cover the staples?
Wondering why you chose to staple the signatures. Have you tried sewing them in? Did one method work better than the other? Love to hear your thoughts.
No Fran, I don't do memory keeping. I like the flexibility of putting random papers in without having to be in any order or making sense for recording memories. :-)
What a fun project! I have a question. In the first completed book you had lots of smaller pages here and there. It seems like they must have been added later on after the book was complete? How did you add them into the journal so they moved like the rest of the pages?
Hi Donetta, I did add some pages with washi tape, but mostly I just collaged on top of pages. If you watch the video of the smaller book, see if I show the pages a little more slowly and if you can see what you are asking about. Leave a comment there if you still have questions.
