May be you didnt sew the dart on the front piece and also on the back piece by half an inch........ and make sure you sew the main seam by 1inch too. Did you use the same method in this tutorial? If yes , the waist is suppose to be 1inch bigger than the exact waist measurement, because an elastic will be attached to the back of the Pant. But if no , i will be posting a tutorial on how i made my Pant tonight. Kindly see the tutorial And the reason i like to attach an elastic is because once you attach a band to a short without an elastic, if the waist is small or too big , you will have to detach the band again......So its always advisable to use an elastic band at the back of the Pant so there won’t be a need for amendment

Place your measuring tape vertically, starting from the center of your waistline down to your under crotch to get the crotch depth. The issue 1. Before sewing the hem, make sure to fold the trouser into two, to check if the legs of the trouser is equal before you proceed in sewing the hem, but if its not equal, then you should trim the other leg to the length you desire before securing the hem. 2. Secondly, if the fabric is stretchy, its likely to have one leg longer than the other, in this case, just make sure that when sewing a stretchy fabric, do not draw or drag the fabric while sewing Thank you💞
