In this video I should how to make a simple, DIY circle cutting jig for the bandsaw with plywood and a small scarp of hard maple. This can be adjusted for just about any size bandsaw and is pretty simple to make and use.

After trying to free hand cut a circle on my bandsaw I thought to myself that there has to be something better. Found your video and looks so simple to make being you took your time and explained everything. I headed to my very small work shop to make this jig. I'm making mine out of MDF. I think I'm going to use pins instead of a screw. Thanks for sharing.

Had you left that back corner on your base, you would have had a zero clearance saw plate to prevent tear out on the work piece. Your 1 inch (radius) marks are actually 2 inch marks (diameter).

Perfect! Thank you. A question- has the ‘screw pin’ ever bitten in to the wood and changed the pattern? Might a straight pin work better, or is that just overthinking?

So far everything I’ve cut was going to get scooped out in that side so I haven’t worried about it. A straight pin might be a nice improvement.

I would have liked to know what the actual measurement was after cutting out the circle. I suspect that it would not have been what you were after. Should have cut a test piece first. Nice video though.

Thanks. That round ended up at 14-1/2" inches across. It's going to be a seat for a shop stool if I ever come up with a leg configuration I'm happy with. I'd really like to finish that up and get a video posted sometime this fall.

Pretty good video all but the loud, blaring effects music

Does it matter how wide the blade is. ??

As long as the minimum radius the blade is capable of is smaller than the radius you are cutting, no. I mostly cut larger circles like what I did in the video so I can pretty much cut anything I need with a 3/8” or 1/2” blade.
