The sponge is just there so they don't leak when in shipping or held upside down. No sponge or a little one over the vent will work better.

Just be extra careful with the utility knife. If it slips, it causes a cut that doctors find difficult to close. It's because the two sides are almost smooth and that means more sutures.

You mention in the video that HP cartridges fail from time to time (it's happened to me) and that all you can do then is to throw them away and try another one. Would it be possible to have a non-permanent way of attaching the refillable top (which doesn't need to be airtight) without using superglue so that in the event of a subsequent cartridge failure the kit can simply be transferred to another working cartridge?

I tried this and finally gave up because there is a protection on those cartridges. The printer is smart and knows that you cannot print a million pages with one cartridge. I threw everything in the trash and bought a TANK, CISS printer with ink in bottles.

HP is so pathetic. They put walls in their cartridges to limit the amount of ink you get. SMH 😡 And their cartridges are so expensive.

Why don't you make a ready-made cartridge and sell it to people instead of these annoying steps?
