"Fill : fills in your shadow and create the mood." Roger Deakins, oscar winner DP, do NOT use fill light. He does NOT. Look each and every single frame or Blade Runner 2049 if you want : you will find catch light, flood light, background light, key light, but NEVER fill lights. He leaves the shadows alone. But I guess, whatever... I'm done. Oh and grade your fucking log footage before you upload next time smh

It all depends on the mood you’re going for. Deakins is very stylized and his lighting matches the mood with Blade Runner - a solemn gloomy mood. But typically for informative pieces like this you tend to light the face evenly because you’re not going for something dramatic. But again it all depends on the look and mood you’re going for. There’s no right or wrong answer.
