Hi Handyman! This is a very unique setup for duplication, and much more affordable than those fancy duplicators. How stable is the chisel when the rod is on there? Are you pressing in to the demo piece, or just lightly touching it? Figure I ought to ask before I go welding doodads together!
I was lightly touching it to the pice I was copying. It got me the overall shape then I used a flat chisel to clean up the ball shape. This was a last minute idea that took me 30 minutes to set up. I’m sure this could be refined to give a better and more accurate copy.
