Hey I have head board from Home Depot that seems to more of a mdf type material. It’s not wood. I’m have trouble getting it to bend. Even with these techniques. Any thoughts?
Loved your video. Me and my daughter switched a leaking valve following your instructions. The only thing was knowing how much to tighten the nut. For me as a woman it was very thigh. Took all my strength. When I went half a turn it still leak a drop, so I went another turn and leaking stopped. Thank you and God bless. The tool made it super easy to remove ferrule. It took me longer to build the confidence to do it than the actual work 😂.
I think its a great video but I was curious about why you didn't use Teflon tape or a liquid thread sealant on the threads? Do you think its not really needed maybe because of the compression ring?
You could do that. The whole point of the video was to show how to replace a valve. Also when you redo a bathroom you don’t want to leave an old dirty corroded one. My next visit I can show how to replace the internals of the existing valve
What if the pipe into the wall is PVC, does the same method work? Does the pipe have to be cut or does the pulling system work? What about attaching the new valve, is it the same process on pvc or is glue needed?
The Electrician That did That Should Not Be Calling Him Self An Electrician .Glad You were The one To fix It Correctly . Service Electrician comes out pulls off the cover and the panel falls into or out of the wall , causing more damage that he would have been responsible for . someone is a professional and it was not the Electrician 8 - ) .
My shower was backing up and I didn't do anything about it until the water level was getting up to my ankles by the end of it. I went in there one day with a plunger, turned the shower on and started working the drain (this gross black stuff came back up). It took 30 seconds to maybe a minute which isn't long but is a lot of plunging before the water suddenly started drained away.
That's the sort of work that makes you want to ask the inspector's supervisor to have a look at. Or, maybe not, it might put you in their shit list. Discouraging. Good fix you did.
Thanks. The company did find out about it and covered the cost to have me fix it. So at least they did the right thing for the customer. Hopefully their installer who did this work got a lesson in doing a good job from their boss. I don't wish for the installer to get fired but maybe your in the wrong line of work if you can't frame out an electrical panel.
I own rentals. I get rid of those and replace with strainers whenever I replace faucets etc. In my experience, not many people, if any, even use stoppers in sinks. They just create support tickets.
Very clever. You can do a lot by yourself if you just give it some thought and take your time. Also, when you are done you don't have to share the beer with a helper. 😆
Smooth wall is the same. It’s easier because you don’t have to worry about making flat spots in the texture. Just fill the holes and sand lightly with sanding sponge or sand paper.
Yes and I had to wait a week to lift the second beam because the customer got the wrong size. So I would’ve had to rent it twice. You have to also consider labor time picking up the equipment. This was way cheaper and safer.
If the ring already digged into the pipe, would this removal method cause the outer layer of the pipe to be sheared off or worse, cause the ring to dig even deeper into the pipe?
If the person who installed it previously over tightened it, the pipe might get deformed smaller than it should be and that could cause problems. They do make puller tool that has a mandrel that goes into the pipe keeping it at the proper dimensions.
Well let say you use your shop vac. Now you have to walk through a customer’s house with it full of dirty toilet water. I’ve had the top of the shop vacuum come off caring it down stairs and dumped the water all over the place. It’s best to avoid these situations.
I zip tied a long black rubbier thing to mine which stopped the dog for a while because she thought it was solid. She figured it out, now. So, going to do this idea. Love it, and thanks for posting this!
Dynamite is want you need😂. How far are you running the pipe? You could try using the power washer method. Drive a bigger pipe under the walkway and wash out the clay with the washer. Then run whatever size pipe through your conduit pipe. Let me know how it goes
I am having trouble locating a trim ring for my 6 in. Helo can. Can you tell me where you got your trim ring, which is exactly what I am looking for. If you have a part number, I would appreciate it. Thx
They sell them at Home Depot and lows. They make different styles. www.homedepot.com/p/NICOR-6-in-White-Recessed-Airtight-Cone-Baffle-Trim-17550A/205511810?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27E-027_013_RECESS_LIGHT-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-NA_2024__WHU24&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27E-027_013_RECESS_LIGHT-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-NA_2024__WHU24-71700000118279173--&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADq61UcsUa9RKA5PomiWfsCCN3JrF&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq_HAwMO_hgMVnM7CBB2SIgLHEAQYHSABEgKvbPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds www.homedepot.com/p/HALO-E26-Series-6-in-White-Recessed-Ceiling-Light-Fixture-Trim-with-White-Straight-Side-Metal-Baffle-6101WB/303782573?g_store=&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27E-027_013_RECESS_LIGHT-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-NA_2024__WHU24&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27E-027_013_RECESS_LIGHT-NA-NA-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-NA_2024__WHU24-71700000118279173--&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADq61UcsUa9RKA5PomiWfsCCN3JrF&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq_HAwMO_hgMVnM7CBB2SIgLHEAQYEiABEgIog_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Or you could just buy the led light with build in ring. www.homedepot.com/p/HALO-5-in-and-6-in-2700K-Integrated-LED-Recessed-Ceiling-Light-Retrofit-Trim-at-90-CRI-Warm-White-Title-20-Compliant-LT560WH6927R-CA/312527751
The drain weasel gadgets are really handy but they are one use and can be expensive over time, plus the plastic ones are REALLY flexible and it’s easy to lose control of them bc they whip around too easily which is 🤢. This is great and appreciate the info, I’m a new subscriber now. Your helper is awesome too ❤ I have a metal gadget on my tub now, it has like a basket and a stopper on it, it definitely stops most of the hair at the surface. It has to be cleaned daily, but it sure beats clearing out something that’s been sitting in a drain.
@@TheUltimateHandymanKyle Have you considered adding additional services such as a course or car repair coaching service? The shop prices where I live are now $190 per hr. so there may be a space in the market for an auto repair coaching or consulting service.
You can also tighten the nut on the gate valve and it will fix it. Leave the valve hooked up, with the water running turn the valve open and closed to flush out the crud. Open the valve all the way and then 1/4 turn back in. Hold the body of the valve with a wrench and then tighten the nut just behind the valve handle. This works 95% of the time.
